CKD diet attempt soon....

Well, in a couple weeks I'm gonna give Mr. X's CKD a try.
It looks like a good program. Basicaly, my goal is to lose fat, while maintain my muscles.

I will deviate from one thing though:
I am not convinced that I wanna take "Adipokinetix" and "Ephedrine" fat-loss supplements, I did some research on FDA website, and those might cause some serious problems.

I'm sure that by not taking them, the program will still work.

Any comments, can anyone confirm if this program works ?

THANKS,
Adam

Yes, the program works if you do it properly.

Adipokinetix is not manufactured anymore - so no worry there. The ephedrine will definitely help you as far as energy is concerned - and the FDA is hardly a reliable source concerning the safety of such things. But trust who you will....

Used properly, and in the abscence of pre-existing medical conditions, ephedrine HCL is safer than many of the things that people put into their bodies.

Having said that, sure, the program will work without it - but you'll be VERY tired...your cardio will not be fun once you hit ketosis.

how long does it take to become addicted to ephedrine? Will 2-3 weeks on it combined with cdk yield good results? Why do people take caffine and aspirin with it. Doen't aspirin thin your blood? I get pretty buzzed from 2 cups of coffee. I am not sure if I could handle a speed like high with caffine. Also could you take the ephedrine at 8 or 10 am and then not take anymore and still get results. I have chronic insomnia and I don't think it would be a good idea to have anything in my system after around 6-7 pm.

Best of luck on your CKD! I'm sure you'll get great results whether u use a stimulant or not. When your first getting used to taking ephedrine, I would start out with just one in the morning. After a short while, you will be ok with one later too.

I'm with Stryc9 on the FDA thing.

I begin my first CKD on 11/1 and I will be using NYC and Clen (alternating every 2 weeks). This will bring my total diet length from 17 to 12 weeks. Not bad... And I will only be using about 2/3 the average dosages.

Overall, unless I die, I think it is worth it.:D

Ephedrine is not an addictive substance. People combine it with caffeine (and sometimes aspirin) for the synergistic effect related to thermogenesis (although the overall metabolic increase is not very significant) - and for the "buzz" of energy it provides with respect to exercise. It also provides mild appetite suppression.

In any case, the results of the stack are predominantly indirect (i.e., you won't see any results at all unless your diet is clean and your exercise program is sound). The only reason I'd recommend an E/C stack on a CKD is because it gets increasingly harder to exercise on depleted muscle glycogen - and the E/C provides the necessary boost.

BIGJuice - the CKD spreadsheet is a sticky at the top of the diet forum.

'Ephedrine is not an addictive substance.'

while this is true, it is worth noting that ephedrine, like many other central nervous system stimulants (caffeine, theobromine, theophylline, etc...) they tend to desentisize the nervous reaction hence the need to increment dosages to get the same 'buzz' as before. And as with many agonists, this desensitization can produce a rebound effect - the so-called post-thermogenic crash (lethargy, mild depression, slower metabolism...).
I, personally, don't like stimulants because I feel that intense excercise (weights) and activity (cardio, sports..) already place a heavy stress on CNS...why tax it any further without substantial benefits like hypertrophy or increased metabolic rate which can be achieved through athletics/excercise.

But as other fella's said, stimulants are not nearly as dangerous as FDA makes them out to be...now this is in reasonable, healthy boundaries of course..

peace~~
