Cars are just getting ridicurous.

I don't want to pay over $65K for a goddamn car. It's stupid. Even with half down it gives a $1K/ mo payment.

I just sneezed chicken and brown rice all over my monitor and keyboard. Sweet.

Then lease dummy.....put yourself in a brand new car every 3 years. But you can only do them with imports.....preferrably Japanese. Other cars depreciate too fast.....making the lease's very expensive.

I went with my friend to the BMW dealer to pick up his M3 and started looking at an X5, then a 550. So I come back here and start looking at others I'd like and they're $65K minimum. That's a big payment if you have a few bad months.

Guy, when you lease.....you're not paying the full value of the car over 3 years. You're paying the difference between the value and the "expected" value after 3 years. I have no idea what the lease rates on an X5 are......but let's say just for shits' and giggles that the depreciation of that car would be 10k over 3 years.. So the bank that buys the car outright from the dealership, will charge you 10k over 3 years......because they're still expecting to be able to sell that car for 55k after the three years is up. So in that scenario, you'd be paying about 280 a month....but there are other variables, like down payments and other "hidden" costs that the dealership or the bank or both try to put on you......so you have to be a hawk with those agreements.

I didn't get too much into it withe the sales person, but he said they normally want $10K down, plus other fees and it would have a payment of around $1,400. This was a 4.8 X5

Yeah broham.. lease cars that hold their value... audis, bmws... what not...

that's what I do... new car all the time and payments remain low...

right......36 months times $1400 is 50k, with 10k down you're at 60k.....we're still talking about an outright purchase of the vehicle. Ask about lease rates.......no lease rate is going to run $1400......christ, that's a mortgage payment. No sense in even thinking about that car unless you can put down "at least" half of the value.....in this case 30k

God, just get a reasonable car. People pay so much for their egos.

I should just buy the fucking things outright. It'll just make me work harder. I totalled my STi a year ago and have been driving this Impreza I bought to race (impulse buy). I don't mind it, I just drive to work and the gym, I don't care if my dog fucks anything inside up, but then I get in a friend's car that is riding in something nice and think I may upgrade. Then, I have a string of a few shitty months and my shit gets put in check. I just want to win the lottery. Do I have to play to win?
