I think the deal about diet soda is WAYYYY overrated.

For a bbing contest - yeah - maybe drop it 3-5 weeks out.

the lack of caffeine will trigger headaches as I told you yesterday.

but....I dont look at diet/training in the same way that a lot of people do....

I do know that diet sodas were used a CONTEST PREP THE WEEK OF a few years back with great success....

From looking at what she's doing she added NYC in place of Trex. That's 200mg of caffeine per tab while Diet Pepsi only has 36mg. So I don't think withdrawl is a problem.
Sweet drinks illicit an insulin response. Your brain doesn't know there are no carbs in it. It's triggered by the taste in your mouth. So for many people it will increase plasma insulin levels. This is bad. Your body will not burn fat in the presence of insulin. So for many people, while the diet pop will replace calories and in that regard be of benefit, it can make cutting a longer process. Again though, the level of response varies from person to person. If you think you're not losing fat fast enough (like who doesn't?) then you might want to try cutting the diet pop or crystal lite.

So for some it may be, as you say, over-rated, but for others it's not. There is more to this that Macrophage will add later. In the wee hours of the morning as we sleep no doubt. :)

\

maybe 36 mg PER SERVING.....

look at how many oz she was drinking.........it a LOT more than 36 mg total.

I understand that most most anything will elicit an insulin response...shes popping 8 ala per day at each meal, so im sure that is covering the insulin spike...so to speak

As fast as she is dropping, Im quite sure that the diet pepsi isnt holding her fat loss back...

otherwise, she'd be a twig by now.

I will agree, for some who are extremelt insulin sensitive...Im sure it has an effect....

WOW!!! Girl you are way out of my league you look really good!!! I had to look twice I thought there was no undies there :) LMAO...
Really you put me to shame... Nice work!

Re: *Bunny* 2005 Log

Yes 36 per serving. The NYC is 200mg per tab. Just two NYC is way over the 8 Diet Pepsi's. It's closer to 11. So she's cool with preventing the caffeine withdrawl.

Yes there are many things that can illicit an insulin response. But if you substitute water for a sweet drink you'll eliminate that one.

The Glucorell R doesn't mute an insulin response if there are no carbs. It partitions carbs but there are none in diet pop. It works by igniting the mitochondria in your muscle cells which then makes them a virtual glucose sponge. Clearing your glucose and dropping the plasma insulin levels. But you can still add more insulin in other ways. Like drinking a diet Pepsi.

Like I said though there are other issues with Diet Pepsi and cutting that should also be considered. Enter Macro.

then drinking a diet pepsi postworkout would be of benefit.

Yes it's already in practice. It's called "shooting insulin". :)

I have to acknowledge that macro found little affect on plasma insulin levels from taking aspertame. I looked and saw what he probably did. American Diabetes Foundation studies back in 88 and more recently in clinics found no change. However that's disputed by several of the endocrinologist who treat diabetics. They have hundreds of patients who have had significant destablization of insulin levels in patients taking aspertame that stopped having symptoms upon secession.

This guy is on a crusade from here in Florida.

There was also an article in Oxygen that I can't find.

Re: *Bunny* 2005 Log

I left a message in my log for you! HA... I wore a speedo outfit I bought 3 years ago to the gym for the first time... Kinda a mid-riff top. Well I watched one guy about drop his weight on his head, and two trainers came over to me asking to look at my log. Then one insisted I shouldn't do 12-15 reps. I started laughing :)

OOOHHH, I would love to go. I think we should arrange one. Let me know, I will get my Amtrak ticket and I'm ready to go. I was just telling my boyfriend today, I need jeans (there is a lot of extra fabric in the booty area!!). I don't want to jinx myself, but I'm getting closer to a size 4.
