Just had my bodyfat tested and i was very disappointed. I came in at 17%. Im 5'10" and 194. I thought i was much lower. How bad is this? I know usually I've read that you can see abs at 10% but the lady who tested me said 12.
 
I just was tested in the bod pod yesterday I'm 5'-6" 11.6%bf at 186lbs
You can see my abs but only a 4 pack and It's not sharp at all
 
That's not too bad. I remember when I would've been happy with that. I think I started seriously cutting at 21%. Now I'm a little under 10% You can see the abs, easy, but overall the core's not as ripped as I want it to be yet. I've heard that comes around 7%.

How long did that take you? Hows your diet, do you mainly focus on lean proteins, vegetables, and complex carbs or is there another way you found works better.
 
bro 17% is not bad at all, there are people running around out there w/ 30-35% w/ their shirts off!!! be happy with what you got, and at least you are concious of it. it will come. im working on it too currenty around 13% and counting.

Im 5'9 with now 10.4% as of friday. I only have a four pack, pretty defined. I am going to keep on losing, so hopefully around 7, Ill have a defined 6 pack. I used to be at 18% about 8 months ago. Just keep working hard and eating clean and the fat will drop.

Sorry, for my late reply. It actually only took me almost 3 months. Having a hard time getting lower. I used a diet of 45% protein, 25% carbs, and 30% fat at 30% below TDEE. Most of my carbs would come from vegetables and my PWO shake. Protein mainly from egg whites, chicken, and tuna. Sometimes extra lean beef, but very seldom. Fat was from ANPB, olive oil, and an EFA blend.
Twice a week I would do a 35% pro, 45% carb, and 20% fat diet at TDEE level to replace my glycegen (excuse spelling) stores. Here I would have more complex carbs. After about two months had to up the calories 10% on the low days because I began to lose muscle.
I had to play around a lot though before everything started to work, and this works for me. Good luck bro.
