biceps

Is ten to twelve sets for biceps considered overtraining. Thats what I have been doing and last night in the weight room a guy told me that I was over-training and I should cut down to seven or eight sets. I had never heard of anyone doing that few sets while juicing. What should I do?

it depends on you, i say if it works for you, then stick with it. ;) every individual has to find what works best for them. for example i myself do biceps right after i train back and because of the secondary stimulation the biceps get during a back workout, they are already pre-exhausted so i only need 5-6 sets for them. this is what works for me.

This is exactly what I do. I honestly believe that most people do overtrain on and off cycle but at the same time everyone is different. I think if people took the middle of the road between Mentzers theories and traditional training theories people would be much happier with thier results.

I do the same thing

When I do back before bi's I don't do as many sets, but I have been doing bi's and tri's together latley. I seem to be making good gains so I guess it works. Since I started my cycle five weeks ago i have put a little over half an inch diameter on my arms so I guess I will stick to it for now, but I'm always up for training suggestions. Thanks guys.

The only thing you can do is experiment. If it works well, keep it - if your overtraining you will know soon enough.

i use to do bi's and tri's but now i feel like i get a better pump when i do back and bi's...my arms did grow pretty good last cycle too..

it might be a little much, but it depends on your genetics and their ability to recover from workouts. a good way to tell when your arms are fried is and when you should probably stop is when your hands start to shake. if your rists start to shake and become week then you have taxed your nervous system tremendously.

By the end of my workout my hands are usually shaking when I try to pick up stuff. I will take that as a hint not to do any more. Thanks again, fellas.
