Picture this if you will...

Late June, traveling for work, busy & stressed - went through an "I don't wanna eat anything healthy & don't wanna workout" phase.
Gained body fat.

Then also got off the pill (was a low dose of Estrogen.)

Ovaries get "all excited" (as my gyn put it) and pump E into my system (the little fuckers).

Get back to my old self, pretty intense training, clean diet. Lose the body fat in UPPER BODY - extra fat stays on bellly & hips. Still off the pill at this point. -> So no mystery here. damn ovaries!

Get back on the pill (YES!) & training even more intensely (the olympic lifting), still clean eating but up the cals a bit (b/c of the more intense training).

STILL F#&*$($%(()* FAT!!! Still not fitting in my clothes. Body fat on hips stubborn & stuck. Well, only been back on the pill for 2 weeks now - but still. What is up with my body?! Normally if I ate clean (like I am) & trained hard (like I am) I'd be leaner than this.

Getting pissed!! Oh - and no, stress level is not that high anymore. Dropped back down to normal after early July.

Oh, dear. I'm sorry to hear that, Gladi. Nothing like work to mess up one's schedule. I'm afraid I don't have any advice, except maybe, are you cycling carbs?

I do have a question, though. What are you and spatts waiting for?

Gladiola,

Not good news but my experience is that it's never as easy getting it off as it was the first time. It's almost as if your body "knows" what you are up to. My experience: I got down to 16.6% body fat in November then around Christmas time I went hog wild and went totally off my diet for a couple weeks (basically til after the 1st). Well, the fat came right back, I went right back up to 18-19% and then it was even more of a struggle getting back down to 16%, it took me even longer than it did the first time! So now that I know that, there will be no more going off my diet and going hog wild ever again! Cause now I know that it's twice as hard getting it off as it is the first time around! So I will try to keep my body fat low permanently by always sticking to clean eating.

As for waiting - I better update my location cuz I'm not waiting anymore b/c I have lost hope that I will get anything.

Anyway - I HAVE been adding cardio back in! :( No where near the level it was 1 year ago, but it's been 2-3 times per week, as opposed to 1X per week.

Cheetarah - I have actually gone up a few #'s of fat & back down again several times over the past 9 mos. My body usually responds quickly. I would have to really work to get much lower than I was in the photos I posted, but to get to THAT level is usually not that difficult (no need to cycle carbs, no need for lots of extra cardio, etc.).

I looked at my pill pack last night after I posed - it's only been 1.5 weeks since I started back up. Anyone have any idea how long it takes the pill to fully supress your ovaries & the existing estrogen to leave your system??

One more theory - is it possible that working VERY intensely is causing my body to STORE FAT - like in a sort of survival mode?! I'm beating the crap out of my body, so it's going to hold on to the fat for the stored energy it needs?? I've been thinking increasing cals might help.

Gladiola, what do you mean by your ovaries getting "all excited"?

I was also on a low dose estrogen pill. When I started taking it I started to lose weight.. now I am off it and my body seems sort of weird. It is hard for me to lose fat and yet I still haven't had a period in three months. I thought that stopping birth control would help me drop some estrogenic fat, but so far no good.

Anyway, just curious by what process your ovaries can get "excited" and pump you chock full of estrogen.

have you thought about going onto a lower dose pill?
when i was on a higher dose i was 3kg heavier!

Manx,

What the pill actually does is supress your ovaries so they don't produce an egg & they also DON"T PRODUCE ESTROGEN!! :) No estrogen coming from your ovaries at all when you are on the pill. (Um, I think?! Anyone confirm for me?) The pill gives it back to you synthetically. Therefore, the low-dose of E pills could possibly be LESS estrogen than your ovaries woudl produce naturally if they were left to their own devices. So all this "GET OFF THE PILL TO GET LEAN" is not necessarily true. It's not quite that simple.

I've seen TWICE now in the past year that I am more moody & have more body fat off the pill than on my low-dose pills. I LOVE THEM! :)

As for "all excited" - that was the term my gyn used when I asked her if it was bad for my body to get off the pill for one month, wait for a period & start back up. They're excited b/c they not supressed by the hormones from the pill.
