Betrayed by body

As for "all excited" - that was the term my gyn used when I asked her if it was bad for my body to get off the pill for one month, wait for a period & start back up. They're excited b/c they not supressed by the hormones from the pill.

You know, I've been wondering about this. I got off the pill (I was only on it a month - the sides were getting me down. Fatigue was BAD, so was bloating) and feel like some of the changes that occured then are still with me, several months later. Weird stuff.

What is the LOWEST DOSE pill there is? Brand names if you know them....

I'm embarrassed to say I don't know if my BCP is low dose or not..... (ortho novum 777) If it's not, I wanna switch to a low dose one! :)

Okay, I did my own research and found out my BCP has one of the higher estrogen amounts. Of course. 35mcg. Damnit. Now I want to switch to the 20mcg pills.

Thanks, EQ!

DG - my pills now are levlein, before was Alesse, & also Mircette. They are all 20 MCG & I've liked them all. Even the mid-range - 30 MCG - ones made me fatter & more moody.

I outta do a search to find out how long estrogen hangs out in your system to get an idea what is normal & what to expect. Yeah, another thing I have no time for.

Thanks Gladiola - that was my next Q (what ones have you taken). Now I gotta go make an appt with my Doc to get my pills switched!:)

I had a good experience with Estrostep. It is supposed to be a "weight neutral" pill, but I actually ended up getting much leaner while I was taking it. I'm not sure on the MCG, probably higher than Alesse, but not over 30.

I'm on Loestrin Fe. 30 mcg of estrogen and 1.5 of progesterone. I definitely deflated a bit (boobs and elsewhere) a total of about 3# when I switched to this from the injectable bc called Lunelle which has fluctuating levels of hormones throughout the month. It can be a big difference to be on a pill that has the same amount of estrogen throughout the month instead of one with fluctuating levels. I actually think the Lunelle was a lower dose yet I was fatter on it.
