Best way to come off a low carb diet?

In about a week or so I'll have finished my low carb diet and will once again begin the bulking cycle :D . I started by keeping the carbs below 100gms per day and have gradually lowered them to under 20 for the last couple weeks (never entered ketosis for any length of time). But anyways, the question that I had was about the best way that you guys have found to come off of this type of diet? The last time that I dieted (not a low carb diet), I went right into my bulking cycle and ate pretty much everything in sight for the first couple of days. The problem was that I got really bloated and felt all fat and gross...I don't want to have to deal with this again. I figure that the best way would be to slowly add more carbs/cals into the diet instead of just all at once. Let me know what you guys think.

SLOWLY!

You're instincts are right - add a little every day.

BTW - you MIGHT have been in ketosis. If you were using diastix to check, keep in mind that if you burn off, exhale or sweat off ketones during heavy exercise, ketones won't spill into your urine and they won't show up on the diastix.

Also, if you drink lots of water (like, enough), ketones will be so diluted in your urine that they won't register. Best time to check with diastix is when you're slightly dehydrated.

That has nothing to do with how fast you jump into the bulk. It has to do with the INEVITABLE water regain you will make . If you go slower, it will come back, but as slow as you go.

However, especially if you bulk at high cals, the sudden jump can screw up your digestive system (to put it bluntly, diahrhea). I recommend 300cals a week, at a time , until you reach your desired cals. That is a very safe method, and will do you much good.
