Best routine to preserve muscle when cutting?

I was planning on running a quick 6 to 8 week fat loss diet and was wondering how to best structure my workout. Usually I drop to a 5x5 scheme for the heavy basics and build around those. It might be something like:
Mon: BPress and Military Press
Wed: Squats
Fri: DLifts and BOver Rows
I use those as a core, hitting 5x5 for each and then add auxilary work in around them (ex: db flyes on Mon). If there's a better way to train when trying to lose chub I'd like to hear about it.
Oh yeah, I'm natural and I'll run cardio maybe 4 - 6 times a week.

It has more to do with protein intake than it does with training, just make sure your training hard but dont let the volume get too high or length of workouts. Its easier to overtrain when your cutting.
 
I agree, it is mostly a diet question, but make sure you keep training heavy while dieting, I've found I lose a lot more size if I train lighter while cutting
 
normal routine......keep weight in the 6-10 range......moderate cardio
 
keep your training such that its "telling" your body that it needs all the muscle it can hold. keep your workouts short though to minimize catabolism.
