I was just wondering what everyones opinions are on a the best cutting diet. I am personally at around 12% BF and have been doing a CKD diet over the last month or so.

Oh ya, very little cardio except for about 2 hours of full court basketball once a week. I do 3 days hard WO's(gym)/1 day basketball/1 day off/1 day light WO(home)/1 day off.

When cutting, I like to lower my carb intake, but never below 100g.

I usually go for something like this:

50P/30F/20C or 40P/30F/30C at anywhere from 10x - 14x BW in calories.

It drops you into ketosis faster. Personally i like to go high protein and drop my carbs as i go along while increasing fat intake. This works well for me.

I find I work best on low carb diets, but then that creates a whole other problem, if I stay on it too long, my free test levels plummet to neutered man status.

HOLY SHIT I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT MODERATE BARBITURATES IS IN 2ND PLACE! YOU ELITE GUYS ARE CRAZY!

For fat people: body for life style diet because it is easy and it will work for a long time

For lean people: carbohydrate cycling because it maintains glycogen synthase and allows the dieter to lift hard and recover to maintain preferred training style and strength. It capitalizes on leptin manipulation and glycogen supercompensation better than any other kind of diet, including keto diets.

I keep it simple, around 200 grams of protein, 50-60 grams of quality fat, and all the rest is carbs. The amount of carbs depends on my activity level for the day. A diet for me is cutting my calories 400-500 below how many I burn for the day. One day a week I up the calories around 500 above what I need, just to keep up my glycogen stores and keep me sane-kinda like plornive said. This always works for me-I've been below 6% since last september and am still gaining muscle.

OK,

I see most people are saying High Pro/low carbs/mod fat.

What ratios are you guys thinking? Is this Keto or just low carb? I am eating around 1900 cals a day. 200p/25c/<100f give or take a few grams for each, but at least 1900 cals.

What should I change the ratio to? Maybe a 50/20/30? instead of the 47p/5c /47f. That is usually what my ratio comes out at every day.

Best cutter ever for me was when I carb cycled. High protein, high fat( good fats) and carb cycle. No cardio and BF was under 6.

Wats the best suggestion for good fats - thats the only thing I am lacking, currently 214P/79C/41F 64%P/23%C/12%F. Trying to loose bodyfat. Any guidance welcome..

what is the best method used for carb cycling. can someone please tell me because im unfimiliar with this diet. thanks

For cycling i usually go 2 days low carbs and then one day moderate when cutting. On my low days i try and keep my carbs under 150 grams so my breakdown looks like 50-15-35...as for my moderate/high day i go 40-40-20. I usually save the moderate carb days for heavy workouts (legs/back)

i go w/ Protein 50, Carbs 30, Fat 20. more or less... works good for me.
im new to the forum....i know that those numbers are percentages but how exactly does it work. in a 1800-2000 calorie diet how much in terms of grams should intake in P/c/f?

Based on a 2000 cal diet, 250g of protein, 150g of carbs, and about 44g of fat. Basically divide the calories up into the percentages, 1000cals for protein, 600cals for carbs, and 400cals for fat. Each gram of protein and carbs is worth 4cals, and each gram of fat is worth 9cals. Hope this helps.

whats with this "low-carb" shit? Carbs don't make you fat.

forget that greedy ass capitalist dr. atkins. 90% of the population will suffer from heart disease within next few years.

it will be like the movie "I am Legend". No one left on the planet

I like to have higher protein, moderate fats, and low(er) carbs for the most part. Every three days or so I'll eat a high carb, mod protein, low fat day. I don't exactly know the percentages, I don't think 100 cals from one or another will make big differences day to day.

For my carb cycle I was going from 0-200. Starting from 200 and decreasing by 50 daily, and then back up. Worked great for me, no cardio and was still under 6%.

lol madmetal.. your missing some thats only 85 percent when you add it up. tfuray I think im going to try your method. The only problem is that when i take my thermo i dont get hungry so its hard to even eat

What? seeing as how low carb diets will eliminate cheesburgers, pizzas, candy, donuts...pretty much everything that you average uneducated joe has known was not healthy for you since before the time of atkins, ill say that you are wrong. i wouldn't go no carb for the rest of my life, but there is no doubt about the fact that eliminating foods that are high in carbs, high in bad fats, high in bad cholesterol, etc, etc will make sure that you stay lean and healthy for a long time.

if you personally eat these things regularly and dont get fat, then you are probably an ectomorph, and will have to try hard to get fat...until you get older that is. but remeber that a good deal of the population isnt like this.

for a healthy, long term diet, i would eat well balanced and only when hungry. you have to train your body to use food, not abuse it.

carb cycling on a 2/1/3/1 kills it for me. if only i could make myself do is strict again. energy levels stay up, muscle is maintained and the mind is left pure, since you get a nice mood bump every 2 or 3 days. that was with limited cardio as well :chomp:

not so slow but steady - Ultimate Diet 2.0 or the next best thing, a CKD designed for you.

quick loss, lots of pain - Protein Sparing Modified Fast

what I prefer is to cut carbs when I feel a wee bit soft, then I start ramping up calories with protein/fat until I reach maintenance again.. Works well and I seem to be doing both growing and leaning out pretty decently.. Drugs help.

Carb cycle works well. Its hard work as you feel so soft and small but as long as the protein ration is high enough you will build steaslity on AAS. I add about 8lbs when I carb load.

high protein low carbs high fat with a couple of carb loads on sat and sun work for me

Ive been running 57%p 28%c 14%f. I just dialed this in to my most efficient fatloss diet yet. I wake up each morning visibly leaner. I refeed carbs every 8 days. Soon to be 7

Can one of you guys pm me you carb cycle diet, so I can get an idea as to what it should look like. Thanks for the help.

depending on how low you want/can go..

you eat 150-200g of carbs today, tomorrow its 100-150, the day after 50-100, then the day after that back to 150-200.. Make sense?

Eat enough protein for you to maintain LBM, and enough fat to support bodily functions and satiety - 50g?

I like taking in low fat but 6 small meals with fruit for snacks in between. Lots of fish, potatoes. I would also add a lot more cardio to the routine for the best results.

High protein, mod fat, and low carbs.

I do that for 5 or 6 days with cardio then I start carb cycling. ya know if you're still wondering 7 years later:wodin:

Im going to do the Anabolic Diet.. Ive had the book sitting there, just skimmed it over and made a grocery list since I need to do that today anyhow..

Do yall think 7 days a week of am 45 mins of cardio on an empty stomach, 4 days of weight trainng , 50p 30f 20c diet training split would be good for an endomorph thats about 5 '11 180 pounds , 22 years old, and about 20% bodyfat would be rly good for cutting ? Also I want to maintain my strength or if possible get stronger while getting leaner.... If anyone has any suggestions on a better diet could you please explain to me what it is and why it would be better ? As well as better training splits or just anything you see wrong.

anyone have a thread pointed to for some good healthy cutting diet meals....?

I figure keep your carbs lower and consume them in the morning.

be sure to eat following cardio

My best diet ever is a CKD. Sun-FriPM is nothing but meat/fish/chicken and fish oil and water. Pretty much zero carbs during the week. Then Friday night is meat and white rice. Saturday I have more meat and rice for breakfast, but eat just about whatever I want for lunch and dinner. No sugar, but if I want some greasy pizza or something I'll have it. Sometimes If I really carb it up I'll fat fast on Sunday to get back into ketosis. One stick of butter cut into six pieces does the trick. I have one chunk for each meal. Yum!

My choice isn't in there. I prefer high protein, high fat, little to no carbs.

how does just eating a stick of butter get you back into ketosis quick? and isn't it counter productive as you are just ingesting everything extra you burn off in fat?

Your body runs on carbs buddy, low carbs will help use that extra fat as energy.

I take Cerebral Success as a study pill but it works almost just as well as a cutter. i dropped body fat % hard after i started taking

I've had success with High protein/High fat/ Low-zero carbs as long as you have something to keep your energy up somehow.... 500 Cals below maintenance. Moderate to heavy weights and a lot of cardio ;)

Eat lot of green vegetables and neglect burgers, cola, fries etc. Stop eating junk food at once.

I disagree with burgers and fries. It depends on your meat and just skip the bun. Fries are great if good oil is used. Although i wouldnt eat them a lot if your cutting carbs. Attention to detail... ;)
