Article about protein intake

Thats redicolous u need protein to build muscle..... its great to have 85 grams of protein if u weight 85 lbs....... the normal intake is around 1 gram per pound of body weight......maybe 1.5

You will both need more and can absorb more than that. WAY more if you use gear. I love that mag! Sure, the data is bad, but you have to give them points for creativity!

This article pops up in a different magazine once every year. Personally, I think it is just an attempt to get attention by debating the widely accepted principles.

Mens Health is correct as far as I'm concerned. I've gained on 60 grams just fine. Less money spent too! :D

I find many of us just get carried away with the 'more is better' analogy.

why not just eat so much fucking protein, who cares, shit out what you dont need, then you know your body took the maximum it needed

that amount of protein intake is fine..... if you have no muscle and sit on the couch 24 hours a day.

Most nutritionist will tell you that amount isn't enought for people who don't exercise and are trying to build and/or maintain muscle. 1gram per pound minimal.

Complete and utter non-sense. Notice how no reasoning at all is given - the author just says that "it won't be absorbed". No sources are cited. The author refers to a "study", but does not tell us anything about it - when it was done, where, by whom, what were the subjects like, etc. That guy is just pulling shit out of his ass. You might as well go to bodbuilding.com and read the articles there - same unsupported bullshit.
