Are protein shakes really healthy?

Great replies. Yeah, I think I will pass on using protein shakes as my main source of protein.

Another question that I have is, is it (dare I say) easy to build muscle when your body has enough or more protein that necessary.

Yes... your body needs sufficient protein and carbs to repair and build muscle when you lift... granted you're really lifting to build...

Oh yeah, I lift havey when working out... At least has heavy as I can.

Does anyone know if there are protein shakes with say 100 grams of protein?

If you take about 150g of whey powder you'll have 100g of protein

The reason almost all protein shakes contain 40-50 grams per serving is because your body is only going to absorb that much in one sitting. I guess your protein that you use now could be 100 grams just add 2 more scoops. I am just kidding though, dont do that, you would be wasting it. Just take a shake every 4 hours or so and make sure that you get the cals(from real food) that you need daily. Protein is very important but you need the calories too. good luck and hope that this makes sense to you. :)
