Anybody ever try this variation on the bench?

I noticed my sticking point in bench is definitely at the bottom. So yesterday when I did some AR work I was just messing around and I tried this:

Go down all the way, then do like a 1/4 rep (through the sticking point), then lower it back down and do a full rep. Each set of these counts as a rep.

This would definitely focus on chest more. I am thinking of trying this on my regular work out days.

Actually, I just got home from the gym, and the guy I asked to spot me was doing those. There's at least two of you that have had the idea. :)

The theory is sound though.

1 and 1/4 reps..they talk about doing those in an article on www.testosterone.net

...I have found them to be best on the hamstring curl when you do the extra work on contracting, or on pec dec when your touch the arms twice instead of once(touch them, let them spread a few inches, then touch again).
