Hell yeah, back when I was in the scene more me and my clique hit up MMF and pretty much every metal show at the Rave, back in '97-'01ish. We went to Chicago shows pretty often as well, Satyricon at the House of Blues was supreme. We hit up the Jersey March Metal Meltdown in support of a local band in '01 too, saw Immortal's first US appearance get cut off due to curfew, that was not pretty :worried: . Too bad Metalfest's gone super-downhill; I've heard so much bitching about Jack, but he always seemed cool in person.

You from the Mil-town area? Did you know any of the local bands? LOL, do you know who metal Larry is at the Rave?!?!? lolololol

man, i went around the same time you did. i remember the Eagles Ballroom where it would get so packed, condensation would drip down almost like rain. Billy Milano was the size of a dirgible doing his rendition of "Milk". lol, those were some great times. but yeah, Koshick kept changing formats and venues and the last time i was there, it was almost all vendors selling shit. i haven't seen any local Detroit bands in years, and honestly don't know if there are any good ones around. but man, i can't think of a better concept than 10 or 12 hours of live death metal.

LOL, Eagles' was so hot that my pants were literally soaked after a Slayer concert.

They used to have great vendors, there was always one guy, we called him "the asshole" 'cause he had primo shirts and charged $30-$40 for 'em... but we always hit him up and paid since he had the rarest of the rare that was officially liscensed. LOL, I don't regret paying now, as I did an Ebay auction last spring and pulled $60+ for quite a few shirts. I just wish I didn't sell half of my old Cradle shirts a couple years ago; I've seen the original Vestal Masturbation and Praise the Whore shirts top $100.

My friends still frequent there, seems a beer is like six bucks nowadays, lol. I haven't heard much good since I fell out of the scene...

I love how Jack wanted Manowar for either the '00 or '01 fest, and they declined because they wouldn't be the sole headliner playing, lol. Manowar = best metal band ever. I think that was the same year headliners Marduk pulled out 'cause one of the guys got a bee sting, lmao.

yes, that's why i gave up going, cuz bands were always bailing out, either that or there was some false advertising. i wonder if he knew how big that show was to everyone. people from all over the world used to go to that. i'm sad cuz i missed Sepultura.

Milwaukee Metalfest??

Half of my friends play in metal bands here in LA and have played up there. They definately say it's a lot of un.
