6000 calories a day?

I have a cycle coming up and want to bump my diet up to 4-6 k calorie range? Impossible, i dont know? I figured that I could stick with instant mashed potatoes and pasta which i like and that only 3 meals need be liquid and 3 solid each at 1000 calories each, now that isnt too hard, is it?

ALSO as far as the liquid meals go, how can i do 1000 calories? I heard of soemthing callled wheat barley, is this healthier than dextrose which i know is just pure sugar?

Any suggestions to get my diet in high gear?
 
no im looking for between 4-6K, if i can get 6 k on a workout day than that would be great. Im doing a mass cycle of deca/dbol/sus
 
how many clean calories should be eaten to put on as little fat as possible while on a cycle or even lose fat?

Better to either cut or bulk and adjust diet accordingly..If you put fat on easily you will want to make sure to keep your diet very clean..some can get away with eating junk while bulking (not me) and others cant..bulking 18-20 calsxbw
cutting 10xbw..thsoe are approximations need to find what works best for you..
 
For me at 200 lbs, that equals 3800 calories which doesnt seems too hard.
What would happen with 6K calories on workout days?

I dont know..you may make excellent gains, you may put on fat!! you have to know how your body reacts..youll probably get more responses on the diet board!!
 
To answer your barley question, yes you can get it cheap at HEB's if they have an organic section. Its the lowest GI grain available. You can cook it like brown rice. Add 2.5 cups of water per cup of barley and boil on low for 35-45 minutes. If you decide to do a 6K cal diet, you need more than 6 meals, and forget that liquid bullshit. Go for 10-12 solid meals a day, and you will need to very closely monitor what you eat (in other words avoid processed foods and anything with a high GI) in order to limit gains in bodyfat.
 
Bodybyfinaplex- is barley malt a flour? does it taste like brown rice?
10-12 meals a day sounds so far out of reach.... whats wrong with half liquid meals. I figured 60 grams of protein and 2 cups dextrose and im set ;-)
 
No, its a grain. Get pearled barley at the grocery store. It taste like a mix of brown rice and oatmeal. 10-12 meals a day is not far out of reach, and if you can't do it, perhaps you should consider a different hobby.

3 meals consisting of 60 grams of protien and 2 cups of dextrose= a big fat ass. Go with smaller, low gi meals. If you really want to gain muscle mass you will need ot make certain you are getting all of your essential nutrients as well. Make sure you eat enough green veggies (I recomend 6-8 salids a day), EFA's and fiber. Dextrose is nothing more than junk food, and will not contribute sigifigantly to gains in lbm. Its devoid of nutritional value, and simply adds calories and a large insulin spike. My advice is to completely eliminate if from yoru diet, and limit the protien shacks to immediately post and preworkout if at all. I'm not trying to be an asshole, it just seems like you need to seriously revamp your nutrition before getting on a serious mass cycle.

As far as the dextrose goes, maybe it would be ok after a workout with my protein shake? What would be good to drink during a workout (protein shake and flaxseeds/olive oil?)?
What thread would you recommend to learn how to eat 10-12 meals a day with salads?
 
Just learn eat by the clock. 12 500 calories meals can be eaten very quickly. Carry food in tupaware containers EVERYWHERE you go, and learn to eat when you are studying, during any break you get a work, or any time you get a free chance to knock down a small meal. By focusing on lower GI foods and smaller more frequint meals, you will keep your blood sugar levels very stable (which will help limit fat gain) and you will give your muscle continual access to nutrients. I don't think one really has to spend much time learning how to do this. Just do it. It requires some discipline upfront, and requires you to pay attention to the clock and multi-task a bit more, however eventually it will become second nature. I like the idea of adding extra virgin olive oil or flax seeds to EVERYTHING in order to obtain more calories. I do this myself.

Most people do not know how hard it is to eat that many k's. At my greatest weight 275lbs I was only able to consume 5500 cals. Sure some people may be able to consume this many or more for a day or 2 but can you do it for month after month??? I was able to do it for 2 months and I discovered acid reflux.

yes for sure. I find it next to impossible to consume that many clean calories in one day. So you are forced to eating foods that are high in carbs and high in fat.

i think its a good idea for a serious bulking cycle.

eat 5-6k cals per day, pump like a maniac twice a day on heavy heavy doses of test/deca and an oral like anapolan or dbol.

try for 8 weeks and youll grow like a wild weed!

Pasta{100% whole wheat pasta is ok }
sweet potatoes are good{ I stay away from white}
water during a workout
PWO I get 160 grams of carns from dextrose along with 70 grams of protein
....I usually eat 500 calories less per day on my non weight training days...
 
Break it down into small meals. Eat something like 3-4 oz of steak, 1 tbs of natural peanut butter and 3/4-1 cup of cooked barley or oatmeal per sitting 10 times a day. You can eat that in under one minute if you have too. I'm with muscleup on the pasta, but skip on the sweet potatoes, they are no better than white one's, contrary to popular opinion. Make certain to add 4 tbs of flax through the day, and toss in some salid with as olive-oil based dressing. This doesn't have to be complicated, nor expensive. I'll find you a link to a post I wrote on eating cheap on a clean bulk...
 
ok, i read the thread and i thank you for linking me to it.
it seems interesting that your figured that all out on a small budget to be so nutritious. My questions is how much is ate at each meal? 2 cups pearled barley divided by 10 is next to nothing... and im not sure about the protein from sources like lettuce, barley (anything except the meat).
 
it doesnt seem like that much though, 2 cups barley? How much is that cooked? 6tbs flax seeds is 900 calories? 1 Head of lettuce is nothing, thats one maybe two sittings... how can tha tlast all day?
 
Those were dry cups of barley. It will almost fill a one gallon jug when cooked. 24 oz of steak is a lbs and half of meat. Yes, flax seeds are extremely high in calories. 1 tbs has 10 grams of fat (90 calories just from the fat). As for the protien, most of it is coming from meat. The other two sources will make a complete protien when combined. Most guys take their protien intake to the extreme. A 200 lbs individual does not need 500 grams of protien for optimal gains.

I would break something like that up into abut 10 meals. Personally I need more food than that in order to make optimal gains, however most guys can make gains on 4500 calories a day.
 
6000k a day is not that hard. I did that everyday this winter when bulking and went higher many days, even over 10,000k for a couple. The key is to eat many more meals, like others have mentioned. And no, not all mashed potatos and pasta either. Try and do it as clean as possible. I would cook a whole bag of frozen chicken breasts on the George foreman grill and then carry them with me during the day. The point is that it is very doable to stay at 6000 cal.
 
first of all tell us some of your stats. Your calorie intake depends on your present bodyweight. Usually if you want to gain take your bodyweight and multiply it by 18. That will give you your calories.

im 200 lbs and 15% body fat
my cycle is below so i plan to eat more on training days though, right?

dbol 25mg/day week 1-4
deca 200/week week 1-8
sus 500/week week 1-8
PCT through swale
 
clomidclown, ok 4500 calories is fine for yoru stats. At your bodyfat, do not go much over that. I'm currently 225 @ 9%.

How can someone eat Steak 10 times a day? How can anybody do that while working etc? Surely steak goes hard and rubbery an hour after its cooked (unlike chicken or turkey obviously).
This is not a flame by the way, just curious to how this can be done?
 
On my last bulk i was downing 6000 calories very easily indeed.I was downing a gallon of milk daily and plenty flax.Then 3 weeks later my tren kicked in and i struggled to eat 2000calories!!

You dice it up into small pieces and mix it into your salid. Throw it in the refridgerator, and take it out to eat it every couple of hours. So what if its a little cold? In order to eat it, put it in the yoru mouth, chew and then swallow. You guys make this stuff so complecated. Last fall I was eating 5 lbs of meat, 1 jar of natural peanut butter, a ibs of romaine lettace and a bit of other food as needed every day, and guys on here said that same thing. "How do you chew all of that? How can you eat it? Does it get old?" This is suppost to be a bodybuilding site. Learn a bit of discipline.
I don't mean that as a flame, but come on. These questoins get silly. Everyone here learned how to eat as an infant, I don't need to explain how to chew and swallow to you.
