I was torn about this. At first, I thought it was appalling to see grown men do this.
Then I realized, these men are working in deplorable conditions, being threatened every day by really crazy terrorist who have NO regard for life at all.
There is also the "PTSD" factor, where stress makes you act out of character.

And like was said, these monsters kill foreigners with little to no regard, cut their heads off slowly and put the videos on the internet, drag live men through the street while everyone cheers.
Two wrongs don't make a right and I am not a fan of American's love of war anyway, but I get how someone who lives and breath war and hate can have this reaction

No they're "investigating" so they don't look bad in the eye of people like you who have a heart for these animals. I honestly believe they don't give a damn about what those marines did. It's all politics. Put on a front so they look good. Yeah what they did was probably morally wrong but morals shouldn't apply to humans who value human life the way those terrorists do. Fuck em

irrundoubtedly those marines are dooch bags but marines do kill live people, seems like a bigger deal than pissing on dead people

oh and we also kill civilians routinely im sayin, probably don't piss on them tho so that's not a big deal

I don't know how these Taliban fighters died but I assume they died fighting; If they're willing to die facing a force that is far superior to them then their corpses deserve to be treated with basic human dignity. Any man that has the courage to engage in a futile endeavor to firefight with US forces deserves a proper burial. If they were cowards that got caught and killed running away after an IED attack, that's a different matter but they still didn't deserve to have their corpses desecrated.


I won't even go into the geo-political argument about this incident harming the political situation.

The reasonable position is to give Pakistan back their authority as a regional power to reign in the Taliban. This isn't WWII, there has to be an accommodation that Al Queda needs to be controlled by the regional governments and that has been accomplished in the region. The Taliban was created by Pakistan as a satellite entity and Al Queda, the real enemy, has moved to Yemen...Fighting the Taliban at this point is nation building in a tribal culture that has been described as the graveyard of empires.
