would it be distracting to workout w/ your boyfriend??

cuz me and him were just talking about this the other day. we both need a workout parter, but we dunno if we will lose r concentration or whatever if we were to train together. any of you guys train w/ ur boy/girl friend??

I sometimes work out with my gf. Sometimes it's distracting, other times i'm motivated to lift harder.

Women have a higher pain barrier.....its to do with the giving birth thing. So in principle a woman might grind out more reps and take less rest than a man, who might be forced to quit earlier and take longer rests by the pain.

Actually, this is something I hear a lot of women say because it puts them on a somewhat level physical plane with men. It is, however, false. Endurance has nothing to do with your gender - it is purely and individual characteristic.

OF COURSE, I was making a general statement.

Of course, there are many men who have greater endurance than me.... but then again, SADLY, there are MANY men who I AM STRONGER THAN. ...... so what was your point?

That there, my friend, is complete bullshit! I don't know a single woman who can take more pain than me. Nor do I know one who can take as much as most or any man. Try an experiment. Get someone to pinch/punch/kick/whatever you and a girl. See who gives up first. Each time, except when the guy is a pussy, the girl will give first. Thus, a lower, not higher, pain tolerance.

Why would you get distracted? Does she workout nude? I've been working out with my girlfriend for 4 years now with no problems. Sure sometimes I have to get a spot someone else on the larger lifts. But that doesn't happen too often. She's a tough girl...

My husband and I work out together all the time. Its sometimes a pain with switching plates and all but alot of our workout is dumbbells and I think it works out very well. Plus if we didnt work out together we might not ever see much of each other.

Girls are not as tough as guys <period>.

Let the flames begin :)

I won't flame you, but I will disagree with you. Ever seen a girl as strong as a guy? Ok, let me amend that. Ever seen the stongest girl in the world who was as strong as the strongest guy in the world? Answer: No! Why? Becaus they are just plain weaker. End of story. Ok, so "as tough as guys" is not the same as "as strong as guys." Ok, then let's take Mia St. John and Mike Tyson. Who is going to knock whom out? Answer: Mike Tyson. I'm not sexist or anyting, but, as far as the differences between the sexes goes, men are stronger, tougher and have better endurance. Look at the world records in track. Why are the women's records slower than the men's? Because they are not as atheltic. Carl Lewis will smoke Jackie Joyner Kersey. The best womens' marathon time is slower than the best mens' marathon time. Sorry, but women are not as good at atheltics as men. The best woman could never beat the best man, unless he was sick or something. And even then he would be a pussy for letting the woman beat him. The stats speak for themselves, bro.
