No clue... I was on the $40 down and $40 a month plan for a while... then they gave me a long term free membership. I think it was $400 a year last I looked... but I have no idea really.
It's just like any other neighborhood gym. The vast majority of the crowd are scrawny or fat geeks. Pros make up less than 1% of the membership... and after a day working out you don't even think about them anymore.
Yeah, that's a great thing for the "to do" list. I would also like to:
Get a picture taken with Arnold
Play Pebble Beach
Play TPC @ Sawgrass (island green)
Meet Dorian Yates
Watch a porno being filmed and hang out with Ron Jeremy
Drive a race car on a real track
I still have a membership at Golds in Redondo. I got a deal where I got a GOLD CARD that allowed me to go to any Golds in Southern California. I am not sure if they have that. All the Golds are owned by diffrent people but they got together an offered this special deal for about two years. Redondo is much smaller than Venice but I actually think they are priced similarly because my roommate was going to Golds Venice and was paying about the same I was at Redondo Golds.
Smallest of all was Gold's London. I worked out there in the '80s... and no joke the floor space measured something like 8 feet by 20 feet. It was the size of a big closet. They only had a couple machines, one ratty exercise bike, and a few hundred pounds of free weights.

I visited the Venice Gold's last year and grabbed a membership flyer on the way out. It was $399/year. Great place, makes the Gold's I go to look small.
