Who here competes?

I was prepeing for a comp in November.. but due to some things, that is probably not going to happen financially and other wise. Moving home to Winnipg in January, so I will be doing the Novice show there in March!! :) Things happen... but still training and dieting like I'd be competing in November to see what kind of changes I can do and see where I'm lacking. :)

I did my first figure show last October at age 37 and placed 5th, which qualified me for our Provicials this past June, however, I was not ready and didn't compete. I am prepping to do the same show again this October and am 2 weeks out, but am leaning towards not doing it. I'm gonna start a thread of a log and will write more details there but in hindsight, I should have waited longer.

If I don't compete this October, I'll compete in early June in figure again. My bigger picture goal would be to compete in bodybuilding. I've made some decent gains this year but would need to probably put on some more muscle and get leaner!

Congrats on your first show! How was your experience?

Awww....how come you may not be competing? I guess if you start a new thread I'll read up more. I bet you can pull it off and do it!

Yeah, bodybuilding is soooo fun! I love it!

Yeah it's tough with competing. It does get expensive! With having to get your card to compete, entry fee, suits, spray tanning, hair and makeup services, not to mention grocery bills. March sounds like it may work out better for you. Good girl for not stopping in the prep tho'. I would probably do the same thing. Just keep at it and see how far you can get your body.

Good luck to you!

I thought you were figure I wasnt sure tho if you were going to change over. You will rock that one!

A girl at my gym is doing the nationals in figure too. I talked to her for like 45 minutes and I didn't get her name lol

Maybe you will see her again nefertiti.

Amy...I've done bodybuilding before. I started off with figure and then went to the USAs in figure. The year after I switched over to bodybuilding. I competed at USAs 2x in bodybuilding. Then this year I was NOT going to compete and was deciding if I wanted to stay in bodybuilding or switch back to figure.

Earlier in the year I was dieting for a photo shoot. It was right around the time of our State show and I believe 2 weeks before that show, I decided I was going to compete in it, Figure.

Then this show Nationals. I wasn't even dieting for it. I was eating clean....like normal. I decided about 2.5 weeks out that I'll give it a shot. lol So here I am. Going to Atlanta in 9 days!

I have done 2 figure shows and 2 bodybuilding shows I far prefer bodybuilding a ton more fun.
I like the no heals part of bodybuilding!!!!!! I hate hooker heals I am a tom boy and walking in heals isnt easy for me!
