Which type of protein stuff to buy?

I have decided I need 200-250g of protein daily, for starters. Which kind of protein supps should I buy? I am flabbergasted at the wide array of choices.

I got some soy protein powder at the store today, that is 24g per serving, 16 servings, and cost 11$. That is a fucking lot of money for something that ain't so much. Protein costing that much will put me in the poorhouse.

There was veg protein, soy protein, rice protein, whey protein, egg+dairy protein...there were SO many I have no idea what to get.

What do you recommend?

the best way to get protein is to eat red meat-if you need to get it thru powder, buy "Real Meals"-it comes in van or choc and has 60g protein and 8g carbs per pouch

If you do decide to go with a protein shake or drink....go with whey...I know there's different kinds of whey so bare with me.

isolate: about 80-90% protein, 10-20% sugars, fats, and flavorings. Poor in taste but it's about the best quality protein you can get. It's really good if you're not concerned with taste.

Concentrate: about 60-70% protein, 30-40 % sugars, fats, and flavorings. Tastes good, but is not quite as good as isolate in quality. Not good for a person who is lactose intollerant.

These two are the best in forms of shakes. If you're worried about eating to much red meat go with some chicken breast, tuna, or egg whites. As stated before I wouldn't worry about heart disease if you are under the age of about 25. Other than that.....GO FOR IT!!!!!

simply protein by EAS.....

It tastes great and the cost is pretty low. 80 servings per container with over 20g of protein per serving for forty bucks.

That's a bargain even at GNC prices.

If you shop at dpsnutrition.com, simple protien is only 25 bucks.. Not bad for 80 servings.

I 2nd Simply Protein by EAS. At GNC it runs 39.99 for the 80 serving bottle it looks like a freakin' propane tank. But for 25.99 from dpsnutrition.com it's a steal!
