What to eat in the AM?

You are cutting bro.........you don't want to mix carbs and fat in the same meal........I've come to realize this and my gains have been extraordinary.......have a shake, have some egg whites.........In the am, I go 50g pro, 40-50g carbs, 3g fats....bulking I jump it to 80-100gg of carbs, but I always do some sort of cardio first........

explain that to me Kurz...the not mixing the carbs and fats in the same meal..i dont think im grasping or understanding that ...example of how you would be mixing both?

actually Jens, I think you picked one of the few bad examples for that, I will blaming on your anticipation for the steak tonight. A lot of people here mix flax and oats (I for sure do, not really a problem)

Low GI carbs (hell, even medium GI carbs) or fibrous carbs are OK with good fats (think, Green salad with oilve oil???)

High GI carbs, paired with SHITTY fats (or even good fats) are a no-go (think donuts: flour, sugar and deep fried).

the science behind it? you spike insuline with the carbs and the fat takes a free ride on that spike

Eh - blame it on super low carbs lately & hardly any calories. My brain is mush! I'd KILL for some oats!!

That was the first thing that popped in my head so I posted it.... *sigh*

I eat Kelogs Corn flakes with skim milk and 2 scoops of strawberry protein mixed in the milk.It tastes like Cereal with strawberry quick in it and I never get bored of it.

thank you pintoca and jen...i understand it now...didnt now that...wow...so for instance, chicken/brown rice and flax seed oil not ok for lunch? due to the complex carbs in the brown rice (spiking the insulin)..then when done eating...popping the flax (fat)......what about milk and flax? the only reason i say that is..what if i eat cottage cheese and peanuts before bed and have a flax seed oil pill?? OR a protein shake w/flax?

Milk and flax is not cool.Milk has lactose wich will cause insulin to spike, this is why precontest bodybuilders must cut out all dairy products from their diet.
