What is the *Best Tasting* Protein Bar?

tri-o-plex got nailed about it's bs label claims http://www.labelclaimstesting.com/?pageID=1 sorry to spoil anyone's fun, but we all need to know. i bought some labrada lean body gold bars today in the caramel and peanut variety. tasted aswesome and i snagged them for .56 per bar at gnc. they're normallt 3 bucks, but were 1/2 price being close to date. i'm friends w/ the mgr, so she hooked it up for another 1/2 off, plus gold card discount. the nutrional value isn't the best i've ever seen, but for the taste and price, it's a fun and easy way to squeeze 30 grams of protein into my diet between meals.

well if you start doing the math on a lot of nutrtion labels of food you will find out that a lot of the have errors.ex 4 cal per gram of carb,9 for fat etc..you will find that the calorie content is different. Again supplements are not passed by the fda so a lot of shakes, and powders can be erroneous. But of course thre are the analisis wich is usually done on a couple of them by the company.

my point we can't worry about it so much if we just try to eat them insted of a snickers or a sugar loaded protein bars.

Why risk it then chief? Have some oats, milk or eggs and be satisfied that you know what you are eating..........'

BTW - when figuring calories of a label, you still need to add in the sugar, sugar alcohols, fiber, etc...........

I don't use bars much....only when I need to grab something quick and/or to keep my protein grams where they need to be....

Also, I usually have a shake after my workout, but if that's not feasible, it always easy to whip out the melted protein bar that's been in the gym back for a few weeks...psychologically I think it takes the pressure off to get that protein rush at the end of the workout...

Problem is these these thing$ are expen$ive....I typically eat the PowerBar Protein Plus that I buy by the box at Sam's Club....works for me...alot of sugar though.

NO way am I forking out more than a buck or so for basically a candy bar on steroids...

Peak Body makes a bar called the MegaPro 50 that contains 50g of protein per 100g bar. It comes in peanut and choco flavor at my local gym. It tastes pretty good for a protein bar. And it only has 13.5g of carbs. I think it's frickin' cool because I don't have time to eat 4 or 5 meals a day...

I'd like to think I know my supplements and companies, but PeakBody is one I've never heard of....must be an overseas company?

I live in Germany currently so it's probably a European brand. I think it comes from the U.K. as the packaging is all in English. It's really one of the better bars.
