but, if you've consistently got nothing to do, no responsibilities.... get some or expect to be let go, that's the first sign of ready-to-be-downsized... they don't pay a salary for nothing...

they just hired me. they aren't downsizing at all.
i see the sales figures- always higher than what's projected. always.

i asked for something to do today. i couldn't take it anymore- i was falling asleep at my desk.

i guess i'll just stay off here during the day. its a bad habit to get into anyway.

It'd involved a protected workspace, an encrypted session to a remote computer and browsing with that remote computer.

Of course they wouldn't be able to tell what you were doing, but they could see that some 'out of the ordinary' communication was going on and lock it down so you couldn't do it no mo...

Just get a laptop and a HSPDA cell phone .... browse the web with that at will. Not on their network.

if you're worried though, pull a JH1 and do the laptop and hspda cell phone.
or, use a laptop and a wifi card with a generic login (if the company has wifi and a generic wifi login)

there's no way in hell that the network isn't secured from outside logins. they are seriously into security.

yes, it is easy to do...

what is in your personnel files as far as acceptable use for internet access???

you could use a proxy.. that is "surf the net anonymously " there are free and pay sites, the pay are the best...

that way all they firewall, or monitor will see is that one site..

however if they are tipped that that is what you are doing, it's easy to install on your computer only a monitoring software that will take screen shots and send alerts to the person that is monitoring them..

and yes... keyloggers are legal to use by an employer..

LOL... you wouldn't beleive how many jobs there are out there where somebody needs to increase headcount in their empire building quest, but never actually ahve the time to delegate anything meaningful to that employee.
