What are the strongest bodyweight to lift ratios?

In every gym I have ever been to, I have NEVER seen someone, let along a high school kid, bench more than 350. But they seem to always be online posting this shit.

not true. Check HS lifting stats and you will see that 430 is not uncommon. I am not a high school kid. I am in my lower 30's

nope, ther is a standard deviation of atleast 1/4 percent based on scale fluctuation

ok. but 198.25 is still over 198 which would put you in the 220 class. but at any rate, with a 1550 total in the 198 class, you are still only a class 1 powerlifter. to be a master at 198 you need 1593.

probably because the few that do, have powerlifting coaches at school and most likely lift in school.
i've heard a lot of people say they've never seen a woman bench over 150 or whatever and i do it every week.
no, i'm not a kid, but i'm not exactly young either and i don't look at all like a weightlifter.

thanks wtlftr. i had to stop reading my cat thread- i was getting upset. benching threads make me happy.
:)

There was a kid in high school that benched 405 x 3... He was about 5'11 a very lean 175 or so. He was extremely strong, especially considering he was 17 or so at the time.
