What are some suggested exercises for improving in basketball?

I've been playing a lot of basketball over the past few weeks and I've been wondering what exercises can I do to improve jumping and other areas.

Basketball is obviously a sport where there is a lot of jumping and leaping for loose balls, blocked shots, etc. And then there is the need to be able to make explosive and fast moves through-out the game.

So what exercises can help me jump higher and also give me the edge in performing sprint-like manuevers?

To help with your vertical I would suggest Power cleans,
front squats, step ups and plyo's .. These are the ones that have helped my vert.. You should build a complete routine to ensure there are no muscle imbalances.... And to be good at sprints you have to practice sprints, but the exericses listed above will help you with your sprints...
