I posted this a while vack ago about my wife trying to lose fat without any success.

She delivered our son about 10 months ago and she has been to the gym since then.

3 weight days per week, 3-6 cardio days. BFL eating plan and she has not lost weight yet. She lost the initial water weight of 10lbs after she gave birth but nothing there after even though she hits tthe gym with me and eats healthy.

She went to get her thyroid checked and the doctor said it was fine. Her family has a history of thyroid problems and she thinks she may have one too but its not that severe so maybe that is why the doc said all is fine.

How would she use Thryoid pills to help get rid of the fat.
She is like 35% fat.

I even have winni, but she doesnt want steroids just something to burn off the fat. NO DNP!!

FIRST you need to post her diet, cause that is where her problem is.

SECOND you need to post the results of her thyroid tests so you can rule out thyroid problems, because you do not want her on t3 or t4.

the doc didnt give us the results. She just said all is normal.

her diet?

4-5 meals per day...

Not really BB foods but normal healthy meals...

Breakfast
egg whites/ toast

post workout
mrp/juice

lunch
tuna sandwich

snack
protein/milk

supper
chicken/rice/salad

late snack
popcorn maybe another protein shake.

On sundays we have our cheat day,,,

Call the doctor get the results and post them. If there is a history of thyroid problems you for sure don't want to start messing with it, could get real bad. Get the results and lets go from there. :)

she will go see anothe rdoctor and get her results...

PS. YOU PIC IS HOT!! Nice abs,,,

the wife wants 'em! me 2

I remember your other post. You said she was going to get a 2nd opinion on her thyroid test - did she? A lot of doctors are quick to dismiss thyroid trouble if the test results come back in the "normal" range. But "normal" isn't always normal for everyone. It also depends on which test(s) were done.

Most doctors will initially just do a basic test like TSH and Free T4, and then do more testing if they feel it's necessary - that's the catch right there. Based on her family history of thyroid trouble, she should definitely seek a 2nd opinion - preferably with an endocrinologist. Having recently had a baby is also a risk factor for low thyroid. It's still possible to have a thyroid problem when these initial tests are ok. Did she get the Total T3 test? - (she should)

More symptoms/risk factors listed here: http://www.thyroid-info.com/chklst.htm - she should fill it out and take it to her doc

Okay so if you can mark an X next to most of these symptoms besides seeing a doctor, thats sorta obvious, what do you do about it? or shouldn't do?

Many of these symptoms can relate to problems other than thyroid (like hormonal imbalances, sleep disorders, depression, poor nutrition, etc.), so if the thyroid diagnosis doesn't pan out, don't give up, it could be something else or a combination of things. You may need to see more than one doctor to solve the mystery.

Even though (or rather because) we live in the era of "managed healthcare" (at least for many in the USA), we must be our own patient advocates. Insurance companies are not going to pay for lots of expensive tests w/o reason. Doctors don't always have time to investigate every possibility, so it's up to the patient to do some of the legwork. Here's a link to a really great site about Women's Health. They have a bulletin board like this one: http://newshe.com/
(It says "sexual health" but it's about other things too.)

Using thyroid drugs to lose weight isn't very smart. T4 will have only a nominal effect and will still slow down endogenous production resulting in an increase in fat once she stops. T3 can really mess up your thyroid permanently and she'll have to stay on the rest of her life.

Although I've often said there isn't a supplement on the market that will grow muscle, there are some that will stimulate the thyroid. Guuggulsterones, Forskolin, Iodine, Selenium, Ashwagandha, and 7Keto DHEA will elevate T3 and T$ and lower TSH -- if high TSH is a problem.
