This is my goal...

Okay...for the contest in STL on May 18th...one of the events is deadlift 250 lbs for reps in 90 seconds. For the past two weeks I have been practicing with the 90 second thing...I really feel like I am getting the hang of it.

Last week I did 205 for 14 reps, and then 185 for 16 reps...did both sets for 90 sec.

Tonight I did 225 for 16 reps and 185 for 21 reps....did both sets for 90 sec.

My goal was to get 10 reps with the 250 in STL...what do you all think? Should I up it...or stay with 10 and just see how I go from there? Just need to know because it will be a huge mental thing for me and I don't want to go into the competition underestimating myself if I could do more...OR vice versa.

Any comments?

if the competition is half way thru the month of may you have plenty of time to up it well beyond 10, you could easily get between 15 and maybe as close as twenty if you keep the training intense and the routine solid.

why not go a bit over 250 to get accustomed to the overload. that way 250 will be a walk in the park. dont to it all the time but maybe once a week for "shits and giggles" and to trick your body.

For a contest...doing lighter weights is sometimes a lot better. Avoids injury a lot more too. Train light, train smart, train just like the contest.

Proud of you girl....
