tate presses and discomfort in rotators

How high are the dumbells on your chest when you do Tate presses?

My guess is that the dumbells need to be higher on your chest. This will get rid of delt discomfort.

They need to be really high, almost at the top of your upper chest.

Also try Tate presses leaning back on a preacher bench sometimes for variety.

Another tip on these is to try to keep your knuckles facing each other because you dont wanna get wrist pain.

when I do these, I do these on a small incline with the dumbbells landing at the mid point of my chest. would a higher incline on the bench be suggested? also higher as to where the db lands, like closer to the collarbone?

The incline is fine. I actually do them flat a lot and also I do them with a band around my back for extra tension.

You are bringing to mid chest? Thats whats causing the delt discomfort.

Try doing them really high like upper chest next to the clavicle yes. Doing them mid chest stresses the delts in a bad way. Do them high up on the chest start and finish and this will work your tri's and wontmess up the delts.

Find that spot which takes away all discomfort...and then train them like a mad man.
