Taking a stab at HST...

I've decided I like the idea of HST, and want to give it a shot... I need to know a few things. First off, how's this for my exercise selection?

Bodypart Exercise
Quads Squat
Hams Leg Curl
Calves Heel Raise
Chest Inclined Bench
Lats Chin-ups
Back Bentover Row
Shoulders Military Press
Biceps Curls
Traps Shrugs
Triceps Closegrip Bench
Abs Weighted Crunch

I noticed on the website for HST, it says inclined bench and dips. Should I perform 2 exercises for the chest, or no?

Also, how should the diet be on this routine? 1g/lb protein, typical stuff really?

sorry..i dont know much anymore about HST

but i thought you were doing DC? what were the results? DC looks to me like a bigger and better version of HST

whoa there kiddo.

To legion: your selection looks pretty solid. I'd go ahead and add the dips, that way you have 2 chest and 2 back so it balances out.

Eating? Nothing fancy. Lots of calories lots of protein. I find though that you need to be super-diligent with eating, otherwise it doesn't work too well. Although that could be said of any plan. :D

Hey casualbb, it sounds like you've tried HST. What are your thoughts on it? I find the theory behind HST intriguing. Conventional training methods have definitely stalled my progress. I'm currently trying out the Dual Factor method, which is very similar to HST. After reading about HST, I find myself wanting to step up my training frequency to hit everything 3X a week.

I’ve found that it’s very difficult to deprogram myself from the old training habits. It just doesn’t feel right not pushing to failure! I guess like everything else in bodybuilding, it takes willpower and self control.

I'm a big fan of the program. Myself and others I know have had great success using it. I use it currently, and even after 8 months on the program I'm still making the same kinda progress I was in the beginning. If you have any specific questions PM me.

what's SO different between the two? both have every bodypart worked more than once a week, both are low volume, both are about setting and breaking PRs, etc..

Failure vs. nonfailure, straight sets or drop sets versus rest-pause (in some instances), even more frequency in HST, Strategic Deconditioning vs. Cruising, and so forth.
