Actually you should avoid a heavy, hard work out to failure at least 2 hours before bed

I'm trying to write this while Anthrax's graphic guy is beating bloody on the keyboard. LOL So f*cking funny!

Anyway ....
(1) I take melatonin. Not sure if it works directly, but I sleep very well.
(2) Exced PM works like a charm.
(3) Exercise would keep me awake, so I don't do that.
(4) Any pain killer like Ultram has a seditive effect and puts me under.
(5) Never tried the bath and tea, but sounds inviting.

From what I've read, the key to a good sleep is a routine ... some pre-quiet time, night wear, darkened room, comfortable bed, going to bed the same time.... And having peace of mind. I've used simple meditation and by the time I'm on the beach in Hawaii, I'm asleep.
 
i got off ambien and now im doin 6mg of melatonin and its helping a little bit. i might bump it to 9mg but im not sure what could happen, hopefully just more sedating.
 
im on lunesta now. its very sedating, maybe more so than ambien, but unlike ambien it doesnt make you hallucinate and make 6 hours pass seem like seconds. i take 1 3mg lunesta most nights with melatonin and valerian. the lunesta shuts my mind off from racing thoughts and the valerian and melatonin help put you into a deeper sleep once you nod off.
