Shoulder Width Poll

Just trying to get a handle on what a good total body width is. I measured from shoulder to shoulder with my arms at my sizes right from where the shoulder starts to slope down on each side.

I mean at the edge of the bone, i.e. skeletal size, not muscle size. And supergirl I am not joking. You must be one hell of a woman bc most of my friends many of whom are on the football team at a large D-1 school are in the 20"-24" range.

well i don't know how you are measuring yourselves and coming up with only 20-24" trying to measure skeletal size without bringing in muscle is hard because you have a ball and socket joint at your shoulder and the muscle surrounds it, so you have to measure in muscle and if you measure from shoulder (side lateral) to shoulder... i get 22"... So i remeasured the way you did, where it begins to slope and i get 18". But still i would assume that a football player would be even bigger than that...
Don't want you thinking i am a monster because that is far from the truth lol

What your asking for is hard to get accurate answers for. You should just do a poll on measuring around the whole shoulders.

It's the related thread feature at the bottom of each page. I've been guilty of it myself. I think I'm replying to an interesting, cutting edge conversation only to realize that said convo ended when most of us were still sucking teat milk from our mothers. Well some of us, I found it to be a nutritious supplement that is helpful until the age of 28...
