Should a man have a say in whether his wife or girlfriend has an abortion?

It's natural genetics. Obviously there are strong women out there. But men are genetically predisposed to be the stronger, more atheletically gifted of the two genders.

What I was saying is just going by the whole "it's my body, yadda yadda yadda" argument doesn't hold tons of water if you look at it from a mere biological perspective.

yes, I can see.. you are quite "gifted"

I think what is missed in these discussions about whether the man should have to pay child support are the rights of the child. Technically, both parents are legally required to financially support the child and support is the right of the child which may be asserted upon the age of majority even if a parent doesn't pursue it. The problem with a man being able to walk away financially or a woman who chooses to not pursue child support is that it generally puts the child at a disadvantage. Even if a mother can give their child a high standard of living on her own, putting the child support in an investment account trust would give her child a tremendous advantage starting out in life. My feeling has always been that a man has his choice when he chooses to have sex and decides to not use birth control. I've dated a number of successful single mothers who out of pride, because they made very good livings and didn't "need" the father, took a minimal child support payment.

in my case, i get nothing because the dad is a self centered prick... it's not worth the headache it entails. so I work more, (longer hours) so I don't have to depend upon his 500 a month, which never comes. I would take it, just to be able to spend more time with my kids, time is something you never get back....

I always wondered if after a woman murders her unborn child, if she will have to face him/her in the next life.

OH look, someone is trying to be cute.

You fail, miserably.

A picture of me just getting back into working out proves nothing, it's just an ad-hominiem attack.

Quite pathetic, even for you.

If a woman undoubtedly does not want children, then she should be responsible enough in the first place to use birth control. Aside from rapes, if she becomes pregnant, its her own fault. I personally believe that abortion is wrong, period. My circumstances are I am happily married with a 3 month old baby, so I do not understand the mindset of being capable of ending a life, a life that I created.

And the chances of a woman dying in childbirth is so extremely rare nowadays, and is restricted to individuals who do not seek medical care during pregnancy. Not something you need to consider if you have a doctor. Pregnancy isn't dangerous these days, otherwise there wouldn't be almost 7 billion humans on the planet.

It's awful to hear some women gripe about "having" to carry a child for 9/10 months. I think that pregnancy and childbirth are the most amazing experiences, undescribable. Then again, I had a flawless, easy pregnancy and an extremely short labour. But even if I had had a difficult pregnancy & labor, creating a life & giving birth is never something I could ever complain about. The innocent sweetheart that loves to snuggle in your arms is worth the pain and uncomfort of pregnancy and delivery.

Yes it should be equally both partners decision if one wishes to abort. I think it's wrong for a woman to abort if the man doesn't want to. It is equally his baby, (it wouldn't be there without him, duh!) regardless its in her body. Big deal it's your body, you don't want to deal with it, use birth control, don't take the easy way out because your too immature to face your decisions.

Something I don't get is, obviously everyone agrees that children being murdered is the most awful and sad thing to occur. However, some people can still somehow condone abortion. They think it's wrong and horrific for a child to be brutally murdered, yet they can agree with an innocent tiny baby being chopped up and sucked through a tube, just because they're selfish and lazy. You can call it a fetus all you want, it's still a life, because you have to kill it to get rid of it.

Bad argument. You have to kill warts to remove them. You have to kill viruses and bacterial infections to be rid of them. You have to kill tumors to be rid of Cancer.

You may want to take a different route on your baby killing argument, for just appealing to the biological side, you're on a very slippery slope.
