Short1 - Bodybuilding Competition Log

Completely different subject - this was bugging me today - I think you have to do a 60 sec no music routine in the pre-judge right? My only thought there was just to make sure you do a 3 sec count on each pose so you can control your pace. Its so easy to speed it up if you don't have the music or anythign to take your cues from.

we're working on it tonight. I've been practicing the 3 second hold on all my poses. I've cut it down to bare bones for the pre-judging. Just the mandatories. IF for some reason I get nervous and speed it up, I have a continued sequence of poses to add in until they call time.

I would suggest at least 1 coat of Protan, only because the lights are REALLY bright and they tend to wash you out.....I've been told by black competitors that even they use Protan or Dream Tan cuz they aren't dark enough.....

So I layer tonite then maybe a rinse off in the morning (no soap!) and a layer of posing oil or bronzer or whatever you have.....

Protan = yep - one coat will do it.

Stick to the instructions about first thing in the am.

That will ensure that you are dry for the am session...your conditioning will be on the money.

the pics you snet to Ilk are amazing....your abs are the best I have seen them.

The puffiness is a comnination of a couple of things:

Travel
Carbing up....

Remember when we did the sodium addition??

It takes an additional 20ish or so hours for that process to really get going, so you can expect changes by tomorrow am.

I've personally found that I know my sequence of poses inside out but I do get nervous so I just simply focus on counting to 3 on each pose - that's about all I can handle to keep my brain from completely blanking out.

The biggest thing is to give a good solid hold on presentation of each pose. If you go too fast, pretty much everyone notices and it can count on you. Its ok if you finish before the 60 sec -- just don't go too fast.

I'm sure you'll pick up on this once you see the first person go up - but usually they will call when you have like 10 sec left and just that noise can completley throw you because you aren't listening to anything in particular and it may seem like they were giving you an instruction that you didn't hear or it didn't register and that can just throw you off completely. Everything you have planned to do is correct -- you don't need to worry about or expect any instruction from anyone so just mentally allow yourself to just do what you plan to do and be aware that you may get that 10 sec call so just run the routine to completion.

Just mentioning it so you are aware of it.

I already look better. I'll take pics in a few and post them. I just put on the pro-tan. It really helps show my vascularity...
