Short Biceps

New member
My biceps are really ugly. They pop out really nicely when I flex but when my arm is bent at a 90 degree angle I have this 1.5" gap between the crook of my elbow and where the edge of my bicep seems to start. From the outside it's even worse, it looks like my bicep starts halfway up my arm! Anything I can do reduce that gap? I've gotten sick of doing inclines and seeing no results. Should I just mass up and hopefully usde this to deter from people looking/noticing the gap?

Short biceps? Train them for length them NOT MASS.

If that does not work, then WELCOME TO THE CLUB BUDDY! Your parents sent you bad genes...

Train them for overall mass, training for length is almost all bs. the reason it may appear to work is because all "length" exercises are stretching exercises.

doubt me, ever look at gymnasts? always long biceps, and fully developed. stretch your biceps extensively during and after your arm and back workouts, and the results you desire will come.

dude,

although the majority of the "problem" is genetics,i encoutered the same kind of problem a few yrs ago and conquered it by using plenty of HEAVY reverse barbell curls, hammer curls.i have created the illusion of having longer biceps by incorporating these movements exclusively into my training program.i have responded well to 6 reps @ 3 sets per exercise.try it and good luck.

if you don't like it,get the fuck out!

Theres alot of misconception in the area of changing the shape of a muscle. Basically the insertions and shape are genetically preditermined so you wont be able to much about this. Stretching, or so called 'shaping' movements wont make your biceps longer either. The only thing you can do is work on increasing the size of the biceps and forearms which will give the illusion of bridging the gap.

da big thinker is right, you may not be working the brachials and they are what make the biceps look bigger

You know, my arms are like that too...makes them look really akward b/c my tri's are pretty big at the elbow, but then no bi on the opposite side. Damn genetics. Someone told me I should spend more time curling with a straight bar, shoulder-width, instead of preacher curls with an ez bar. Who knows.

cubes got it. listen to the man.

Thanks alot for the replies guys.

I've noticed that I usually get sore on the lower part of the upper arm towards the outside. The Brachials? This could be because I like to use the EZ Curl bar to take some stress off my forearms. Maybe the straight bar will put more emphasis on the biceps. How can I do this but avoid the pains I feel in my forearms? Doing hammers and reverse grip curls will work the brachialis muscle but I think I end up working that anyways since that is usually the only part of my arm that hurts the next day.

i have the same problem as shakey wouldnt it just fill in over time doing weights as the bicep cant stay the same length and jus grow higher and higher it has to spread out at some point and stretching does help because when say when your hands a really realy cold you clench them and when you try to open your fingers its hard to do beacuse your steching them longer same thing applies with the bicep
