SHARP pain in front delt-trapezius area. please help

So i was doing declines/benches and dumbbell overhead presses and i felt a sharp jolt of pain in my front delt/trap area. whenever i rotate my shoulders or raise my shoulders in a front-raise like fashion i get this sharp pain in my shoulders. it also hurts when im setting up for the bench press where i grab the bar with a supinated grip and pull myself into a tight position. the pain is sharp so i think its a muscle pain.

the location of the pain: cup your chest with your hand around the nipples. then go up vertically until youre at the place where the clavicle ends. thats the area where it hurts, where the front delts seemingly connect. i also seem to have a bit of bruising here.

the physio is closed until wednesday so i want to come here for advice until i can visit them.

the pain arises when i bench press and do dumbbell overheads. its fine when i barbell overhead. the pain is most intense when i do decline presses.

can anyone help me? this is bothering me so much. ive had so many injuries over the past year the thought of another debilitating injury makes me nauseous with frustration.

Yup just had surgery on said shoulder area in June of 2012. Three tears in all. All of what you said. Back at it now after 8 months of rehab.

Doctor recommended staying away from any overhead pressing. Been killing it in the gym since.

You risk severe injury, get your MRI done.

I had to throw in the towel when the pain began waking me at night!

Same thing mine was torn docs said mine was from heavy bench pressing decline and flat cant do it anymore anything else it's fine I decided not to have surgery at this time it's been a year now I stay away from flat and decline and not having any pain right now

Thank you for the advice. although i gotta admit that the possible seriousness of the situation is soul crushing.

did your pain go away when you left it alone for a while? I just benched today and the pain came back after doing overhead presses 3 days ago. From searching the web I think my injury is to do with AC joint separation. im just desperate to reassure myself that this injury will go away soon.

ill go get this checked out by the doctor and the physio asap. thanks for the heads up.

Sorry to tell u, but I stopped the exercises that cause me the pain the most first. I then had decided to stop all together for a few weeks. A frw weeks turned into a few months. Waiting for this to mysteriously heal on its own. Needless to say I had enough after doing all that and then waking in the middle of the night when I would roll onto my right shoulder. I sought medical attention. First jumping through hoops with injections until a MRI was warranted.

You should get checked out.

make a appointment to see the doc. If the doc says is a good strain or what ever and says it will take a while to heal then it will take a while to heal.
stay away from exercises that hurt and if there is none then there is none.
only time will heal any injury and each time you test it and it hurts you continue to reinjure and it will take that much longer.

its a reality of training had many injuries so just let see a doc and do whatever it takes to let it heal.

should i go see the doctor or the physio? ill have to do exercises that dont hurt my shoulders for the next few days.

i like your profile pic btw its really nice to look at
