Serious Question..Whats up with blood when I take a dump?

Every once in a while After taking a shit There will be blood on the toilet paper. Im not sure if this is anything serious or happens to everyone. Could it be my diet or heavy training that is causing it? Sorry if it sicks anyone out.

sorry to hear that hun, and it isnt a 'fun' topic to talk about...lol! but believe it or not it is prolly more common than u think. a lot of ppl bleed occasionally (small amounts). and a lot of times the amount is so small u dont even see the blood.

although, it wouldnt be a bad idea just to go see a dr to make sure everything is ok. you know, to just to make sure. especially if u r cramping frequently, happens quite often (a lot), and if u have any other symptoms along with the blood. always better to be safe than sorry.

thats gross

ahh you beat me to it ashe lol

you could have haemorrhoids

Is there blood in your stool or is it just on the toilet paper.

Blood in the stool = generally equals not good. Get it checked out.

Blood on the Toilet Paper could be hemmroids, which could be caused by the protien rich diet. (actually the extra work involved in getting rid of said protien rich diet).

okay

I just ran a search on bloody stools and this thread came up, there is a disease called colitus...and now im a bit scared. Read this!

i didnt read the thread but i have crohns disease....which is very closely related to ulcerative colitus (do not feel like getting into the details of the differences). but my point is i know A LOT about the digestive tract. unless u have any other symtoms besides blood, more than likely u r just fine and u dont have ulcerative colitus or crohns. so dont worry 2 much about it hun.

but like i said earlier, it is always better to be safe than sorry. just go to the dr and make sure...the peace of mind is always worth it to me anyways....

it's not really that serious if you take care of it early. it's a hereditary thing in my family and the best thing to do is take in more fiber. get a fiber supp if you aren't getting enough now, metamucil is what my dad and grandpa takes.

definitely go to the doctor to have it checked out, it may be nothing more than not enough fiber.

if it goes unchecked it can get more serious than you think.
