how was the show?
 
Hey, "69" is my last name!

The show was good! The best part was that it was short..! It was a very local show so a small range of competitors. The best part was this 19 yr old kid they kept calling "our favorite teen" (I guess the only teen...). He was small but decent in the morning show -- good posing, just needs to mass some. So at the night show he gets his 90 sec on stage for his posing routine. For the first 60 sec he's doing regular posing to some slow music. Then the last 30 sec it cuts into some faster stuff & he essentially starts breakdancing, moonwalking, hitting an occassional pose in there and ends w/ a front double bi & kisses each bicep. The crowd went wild! There were a few people who needed some work, but generally very nice group of competitors. A handful of really beefy guys who looked great. One Samoan looking guy was so thick that he looked someone photoshopped his head onto the Hulk.

Anyway, I just bought "The Incredibles" on DVD and me & the cat are moments away from a screening!

Work was non-inspiring and looked forward to training. Planning also to get started on the website tonite.

Pre-cardio meal: 6:45 am
3 egg whites

Meal 1: 9 am

- cable rows, short range: 50/8 55/8 60/8 70/8 repeat
- db rows: 10/12x 4

- abductor: close to 1/2 range: 50/8 55/8 60/8 65/8 70/8 65/8 60/8 55/8

Hopefully some pix tomorrow, no weight change, but the trainer says yesterday my weight (since weighing late in the day) is 155. "Unwanted fat" measures to compare progress, based on 9 pt caliper measure:

1. Subscapula
2. chest
3. bicep
4. tricep
5. lower back
6. Suprailiac
7. ab
8. quad
9. calf

3/12/05: 8 + 3 + 1 + 10 + 13 + 5 + 6 + 8 + 15 --> 18.6 lb unwanted fat, 140.4 lb lean muscle
3/16/05: 6 + 4 + 1 + 6 + 13 + 4 + 3 + 6 + 7 --> 13.35 lb unwanted fat, 145.6 lb lean muscle
3/24/05: 4 + 0 + 2 + 5 + 12 + 0 + 2 + 6 + 8 --> 10.49 lb unwanted fat, 148.5 lb lean mass

Today I pulled my belt to the last notch and the size 8 Levis are looser.

Well today after getting my ass (well, actually shoulders) kicked in 5 exercise superset I went w/ the trainer to get my hair critiqued for the upcoming show. I now have slightly less than shoulder length hair, colored with chocolate brown undertones and blonde & brown stripes. Its' supposed to take about a week for the chocolate lose about 15% of its brown & blend in some more. I LOVE IT! Pretty wild!

The gym is closed tomorrow for Easter, however I've got 2 40 min cardio sessions scheduled. (No easter eggs (though Easter egg whites...) and no chocolate bunnies) And we're also increasing the aggression in contest prep to be ready in 4 weeks instead of 7, i.e have 3 weeks to tweak. This should be interesting, but bring it on! After today, I came into the gym w/ an idiot grin on my face about how my stomach is flat today! I saw some veins pop in my shoulder doing military presses today and now the hair! I am a believer!
 
Good job Sassy... No easter eggs or chocolate bunnies here either :(

Oh well Bunny can just enjoy ours ;)
 
Bunny will just have to tell us in great detail about every chocolatey bite.....

I will not be cheating in any way, shape, or form for a very long time... the 'forced' break on the cruise broke me... I'll have to be force fed... and Sassy no funny ideas in May...

I just had to throw in here, after boring a few special people (and very supportive & tolerant people!) with the lousy weather in the ATL, the goofy movies I've been watchign all day and my general boredom, I tried on my skinniest pair of jeans I've owned in 20 yrs.... AND THEY FIT!

My damn scale has a dead battery. Argh. No idea my weight right now, but something is dropping. Tomorrow starts a 2 day carb cycle - replacing my 2 sweet potato meals w/ 1/4 c almonds each. Expecting new pix tomorrow.

Low carbing today, but I think I'm mostly in a fog from being short on sleep.

warm up:
- stairs: 20/up+down x 10
- sissy squats: 10/8x8

Ok finally got some pix, but eh, not all that impressed. I look better in the morning :) Whatever. At least I got them. Yes I'm including my face, at least for now.

2nd day of low carbing, but actually not that bad. It helps when u get some sleep. I've got a bit of a "roll" going around my waist still - I'm hoping that's just me being low-carbed to a certain degree -- loose skin.

As you can tell, the issues are going to be lower back/sides and thighs. (Not that I couldn't have told anyone that 2 months ago...) The remedy? Lunges. LOTS of lunges. Walking lunges. Step-ups. Lots of them. And cardio. Lots of cardio. And carb cycling.

HOT DAMN! I cleared 155 lb! This morning I weighed in at 153! And that's on a hi-carb day! Next goal is to clear 150! After that, look out baby! 150-155 lb has been my body's "set point" and is the point to clear!

Totally off topic, but in addition to 152, the sun is hitting my back deck! This is one of the huge compromises I thought I would have to take when I bought my townhouse. I'm in a community of buildings that aren't ridiculously packed together, but there are precious few units that don't look out into the next building's windows. I look sort of out onto a scrub area before the trees start, which in turn hide the railroad tracks where about 15 trains/day pass by. But the angle of the house is such that in the winter and even in the early fall when I bought the place, the sun would not hit the back deck. And coming from Florida, I crave a private area where the sun hits.

This means I can lay out back there, get some actual tan and not have weird neighbors staring at me.

This is truly a great day!

Sold my house in Ft. Lauderdale in late 2003, 10 months on contract in Minneapolis & now in ATL. 12 yrs in Ft. Lauderdale!
 
Soooooooooo..... yet another wrinkle in the saga that is my life....

Seems by general consensus my biceps are currently too big for figure and I am not devolumizing enough in 5 weeks. So the plan is for doing the BB competition. Then focus on figure for a show in August. So....

Anyway, change of plan for the near term. Training will continue the same, possibly some tweak in diet to increase protein, same cardio, etc. Target getting down to like 140 lb, drop 8-10 lb water weight.

More details as the plot unfolds....

The "look" I'm pursuing is similar to this girl I mentioned at the Arnold Classic:
