Depends on the kind of roast
If it's a normal Chuck or shoulder roast, then it's ok... but they are pretty high in fat for a normal diet. Since you mentioned potatoes, then I'm assuming you are doing a balanced or high carb diet. In that case, roast is probably not the best choice of protein source in bulk because it is high in calories and fat. If it's a different, leaner type of roast it might be ok. What Cozmo said is right on though. There is no definitive answer to whether roast is good or bad. We need to know your goals, and your type of diet to be able to give you good advice.
