i begin each day with my exercise program from a book i ordered from eas called fitness for women. i always exercise on a empty stomach. one day i do 15 min. on the treadmill, then do my upper body, the next day i do 45 min. on the treadmill, the first 5 min. i walk slow, then 10 min. fast, then 10 at 1/2 incline, then 10 at full incline, the other 10 min. i do slow a couple of min. in between each set of 10 min., and before stopping. the next day, i do 15 min. on the treadmill, then do my lower body. and so on. i do this 6 days out of the week. i have been on this program for 63 days. i started out weighing 178, and now weigh 171 and am only 5'3. i have been keeping a diary of my diet and progress. my diet consist of ... 1egg, 2whites, and a serving of oatmeal for breakfast, lunch is usually a meat on the grill with some vegetables, dinner is about the same. sometimes i have a snack like cottage cheese and fruit, or a protein bar. saturday is my cheat day to eat anything. i try to drink at least 64 oz. of water each day. what is your thoughts about this program? it just seems to me that my progress is sooo slow. i have been on diets for 14 years and i always get depressed and end up stopping only to gain back what i have lost plus even more. i am trying really hard not to give up this time. i only want to be in good shape and have muscle tone, and be the right weight for my height. i never had a weight problem until after i had my son.:bawling:

Why do you say that oatmeal and fruit are bad choices? The ony time I have seen them removed from a diet was in the last month or 2 before a competition when you are getting rid of that last little bit of fat and reduce water retention. Otherwise in the right amount they are good sources of carbs.
