How safe is it as far as infection goes? The gear is good. Thats not the problem. I am concerned about all the other shit! Is it safe or unsafe. Even if he used rubber gloves and clean bottles the whole nine yards.

it's not perfect but it's probably ok, UG lab gear isn't totally sterile and much of it could be described as 're-bottled' and people use it all the time, stop using if you get an infection

I am not sure what you mean by "rebottled" either. But if you know the stuff is good, then you can just bake it to kill any germs and you should be good to go!
