Question for the Girls

If she's on the go, she can pack food & keep it in a cooler in her trunk too. It takes a little bit of planning & work to find stuff you like to eat, time to eat it and the time to pack it. But it becomes easy to get it down to a science. She can drink LOTS of water and even for fast food options, she can find those places that will accommodate a clean diet (e.g. Wendy's, salads, etc.) She will probably find she has more energy with a cleaner diet too.

Training-wise, she can get an excellent workout with a Fit Ball & a set of resistance bands for resistance training. Cardio will make a faster difference too. Biking, rollerblading, walking.

...So in your opinion, unless she can get to a gym, there isn't much she can do? No home exercises to speak of?

NOO! I didn't mean that :goof: There's lots of stuff she can do at home. It doesn't have to be an official "exercise" to be a workout. When I lived on a farm and did chores all day (cleaning stalls, tossing haybales, hauling water, grooming horses, etc.) I never went to a gym. Don't live on a farm? Pushing a lawn mower, vacuuming, digging in the yard, washing windows or the car are all great workouts.

But she can also do things like pushups, pullups, dips, squats, etc just using her bodyweight and no fancy equipment. A jump rope is a great cardio and leg/calf workout.

She needs to eat more often and more protein. She can buy the canned protein shakes and protein bars. Try not to have the protein bars to often. I usually cut them in two. Have half as a snack in the morning and the other half as snack in the afternoon.
Oatmeal for breakfast is fine but I would cut bread out in the afternoon. Salads you can have on the go and prepare before hand and you can add chicken for protein. If she prepares her meals for the week on a Sunday then she is more likely to stick to the clean eating. Being unprepared is probably the thing that has her going to drives thrus. Take her weight and x12 then -500 that would give her the amount of cals she needs to eat to loose about a pound a week.
Suggested foods to eat would be:
Protein: chicken breast, turkey (white meat only), fish, strip loin and other lean steaks, cottage cheese.
Carbs: oatmeal, whole wheat breads, yams, whole wheat pasta (avoid carbs after 2 p.m.)
All veggies are good but greens are the best.
Fruit is fine but again avoid them after 2 p.m.
See how her body responds to this diet me personally I can only really drop the pounds if I drastically cut my carbs. Tweak the diet a bit as she sees what her body responds too.
How many days of the week can she make it to the gym to work out?

superqt4u2nv is right on w/that advice. Diet is key - but training hard is also crucial!!

I used to train people at my house or their house using 10lb. dumbells, a stretch band, chair/bench/stool, and I also had a big exercise ball. There are numerous exercises you can do with these things. The most important was the dumbbells. Cardio=running outside or walk/run and work up to running. I can make a list of the exercises I used if you'd like. Just PM me.

Beat me to it!
90% of her success will be in the diet/ never neglect the workouts ,and things will fall into place!
Just remember ----- Fail to plan=plan to fail
