Question for other fighters, do you lift??

yes, i lift. I tend to break up year into several parts. one part of gaining big time mass then the rest for training mma. When i train mma, i lift a little, minorly, high reps, low weight (to increase endurance). Ive found that lifting heavy and training mma at teh same time, slows you down (ie slower punches/kicks)

I lift as heavy as possable and if anything im faster now @210lbs than what I was @190lbs
 
on cycle I'll train 4-5 days a week in MMA (Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do, Jujutsu) and hit the weights almost everyday. when off cycle, I'll back off to about 3 days a week on the mat and 3 days on the weights.

Recovery and stamina are exponentially improved while on a cyc. They don't call it performance enhancers for nothing. In today's MMA arena, if you're not juicing, you are most likely at a high disadvantage (skill for skill -the juicer will win).
 
first 3 days of the week i do traditional lifts including olympic, take a day off and then do 3 days with kettlebells and this giant bastard off a rubberband i got at u-haul (which has turned out to be the best piece of exercise gear i ever used somehow, it will wear your ass out) the band work has made me infinately quicker from punches, kicks and shots. i used to have to depend on my ground game because my reach was short (5'9" 240 ) but now my hands have gotten so quick its in and out, which is alot less painful than the plan of eat a couple waiting for the shot to open up. anyhow i'm in love with my band and kettlebells are the shit.
