PWO meal pre-bed

I asked a related question earlier but never got this issue clarified.

I am bulking and training in the evening

My PWO shake is 30 whey, 10 BCAA, 10 glutamine, 70 waxy maize.

An hour later (about 10:30), I will have my pre-bed meal.

What do people consume here if its pre-bed? I want a slow digesting protein because I am going to bed, but do I ingest carbs because it is pretty close to a workout, or not because its pre-bed and this will blunt GH release.

I was thinking of 4 whole eggs; 100 grams kangaroo, 500 grams of pumpkin.

About 550 cals, with about 30 carbs

Another option was 0.5 cup of oats, 30 grams casein, 2 whole eggs, slightly more carbs. I kinda like the idea of veggies pre-bed though simply for nutrition

What do people do or what is standard protocol?
THANKS

Personally Sim if I were you I wouldnt do carbs pre bed meal.
If your getting it PWO Its ok.
Or you could have a little bit of carbs half hour pre Pre Bed, Post PWO meal.

i have a casein shake b4 bed with no carbs but i train at lunch. u may still want to limit your carbs b4 bed and when u wake up have some fast acting carbs with protein to fight off catabolism.

I finally started staying away from carbs before bed. Making a world of difference in my bf%, and I can fall asleep faster. A simple shake around 2 hrs before I hit the sack has been a great improvement for myself.

Thanks - I will stay of the carbs. I'm assuming some veggies is off course fine (e.g., spinach/broc or something).

I guess the benefit of the waxy is that the insulin spike is very sudden, and will hopefully be finished by the time I hit the mattress. Another thing I have noticed with the waxy is I don't feel hungry afterwards, which is what I want b4 bed so I can sleep (another good thing is that its the only carb that instantly makes u look more ripped)

I think I will have then something similar to - 300 gram fiberous veggies, 3 whole eggs, 20 gram casein shake, only about 400 cals, and just add a few more to other parts of the day.

Protein + Fat for pre-bed...

The 70 grams of Waxy Maize will fill you up nice, no need for more carbs.

I'd do one of the following

Shake + Natty PB

Eggs + Lean meat

Casien Shake

Kangaroo smothered in PB

-Ingram
