Protien Powder and a Toddler - Need Advice, Please.

hey, there.

I add protien powder to just about everything that my boyfriend and I eat. (Shakes, pudding, oatmeal, etc.) Naturaly, my 4 1/4 year old boy wants to taste everything we eat - and the only way I can eat my pudding without him seeing is by locking myself in the bathroom. :)

I usually cook something totally different for him, and always keep kid friendly food around. Is it OK for him to have protien pudding once in a while, or do I need to make up a batch of regular so I don't hurt his little body? This has been worrying me for a while, so any advice would be appreciated.

Spatts had mentioned giving her little one some protein mix in one form or another. I can't imagine it would hurt occassionally. Definitely don't make it a staple of the little guy's diet in place of real food, but also watch if he's sensitive to the mix you use, e.g. gas, etc.

I have done a lot of research on this.

I do not have children yet, but I like to be prepared for the future!

As far as I have read / heard from other people, it is perfectly ok to add a little bit of protein powder EVERY DAY to your little one's shake, milk, or wherever.

The restriction is: be aware that his serving size is considerably less...give him about 1/4 of what you would take.

To supplement his little diet with a bit extra protein is not going to hurt anything, given the one restriction.
Just be sure to include good solid protein sources in the rest of his diet!
