Pain in forearm

Pain is in my forearm and a slight pain behind the elbow, it hurts to do certain exercises like a fully extended dumbbell curl, have to do a partial rep which I know is not great especially on one arm, also when at home say im picking up a cup you can feel its a bit tender, i have rested it for a week now and pain is still there, feel like I'm losing muscle mass by the minute not going gym so going hard today, using muscle rub ibuprofen rub etc and still tender. Finished cycle over 3 weeks ago and the slight pain started about 6 weeks ago, and now at its peak in soreness ,now just really irritating and want to get back in the gym .

Any suggestion at getting this sorted, please don't say rest! Or if rest then can I just go running or just do legs for a month lol!

Hi there.. sounds exactly like a pain I suffered, as my weights went up the twinge became unbearable.. tried des, physio, rest etc etc. Nothing helped. It only got worse...
Until, I was introduced to trigger point therapy (?myo something?).
Basically the pain begins up near my spine. So I was told to find a round object I use a tennis ball, lay down, position it between my scapula n spine and focus on finding the spot. Then continue to massage. It works!!!
I still feel the pain begin every now and then and a quick roll around on the floor fixes it and I'm lifting with ease.

Although, I am not a very descriptive writer. I am certain I suffered the same problem. I tried for months to find a remedy. I hope this helps.

Have an awesome day..

I have the same issue I used an Ez curl bar and its a little better but I found if you slowly release the bar the pain isn't as bad

Sounds like tendonitis.. suffered from it last year.. rest is the only way to cure it and I haven't suffered since

Bump bonacris! I've had it and still do. Been over a year now. It's getting better slowly now, and the only time it feels better is when I'm actually in the gym lifting. Once I'm done, it goes back to hurting. Picking up bottles of waters and even shaking someones hand really hurt. Went to a Sports Dr. (after trying everything else, including TB500) and he told me it was tendonitis. Said all I could do was deal with it. Picked up a forearm brace and kept at it. Dr. didn't say I had to stop, just take it easy. Time will be the only thing that will cure it.

It was affecting my work so I took 6weeks off from heavy lifting.. eventually healed..

Thanks for all the responses guys and girls very much appreciated, thought that It can't just be me who suffers from this. Your right rest is the key although I rested it for a week now and then started a new regime yesterday down the gym and it does not seem too bad this morning , just have to put up and shut up right, glad to hear that it finally does finally subside, funny how you seem to get theses pains after a cycle, first cycle and I just felt invincible , now off and feel weak !

Anyhow again thanks people

Thanks also for this information , sorry tho but how would you go about doing this tennis ball technique on the forearm , any input much appreciated

Hello again :)

Good question..

I guess what I didn't highlight well enough was that my particular pain originates between my scap n spine. I know it sounds odd but the nerves up there play havoc with the arm.

Someone kindly help Me out with the physiological terminolgy ;) the term meridians comes to mind but I'm not certain.

But basically put something round and firm on the floor. Lay back on it so it is putting some pressure between your scap and spine. Move yourself around and try to find an area of tenderness, its hard to describe. I have a real precise point that just releases all of the pain. Sounds crazy... But give it a go. Its not dangerous and what have you got to lose. If it is the same problem I had you'll be good to go and if its not at the very least you'll have had a bit of a massage.

I am no expert and I am merely passing on my experience. I hope it helps.

Keep me posted :)

Something that helped me when i had this I had it so bad I could barely wipe my ass without it hurting like CRAZY in my forearm. I had to switch to allways doing reverse curls for a while it helped alot. The tendons in your forearm are to weak for the weight your curling most likely
