I sound like a broken record on this but I strongly suggest finding compounding pharmacies in your area and calling them for referrals to TRT docs. Doesn't mean you have to go with compounded test (though I recommend it) but if a doc prescribes compounded test that usually means they are reasonable and aren't one of these "high end designer HRT shops" that scam people with riduculous prices. The good ones I have found are open to trying the different methods of delivery and picking what works best for you. Google for compounding pharms, call a couple, ask for a couple referrals from each and in an hours time you should have a decent sense for the market of TRT docs around you and what they will and wont do.
I actually gave that a shot and found one compounding pharmacy in my area. The pharmacist was more than happy to give me a list of names. Unfortunately they were all like " I can be your doc for $3k a year". No thanks! i guess that's NY for you
About Dr. Gordon I actually canceled my app with him because I heard from some people on a few other boards that he is stubborn and likes to dose peope with a big test shot once a month.
Rather than waste my time with the long drive and all I found another doc that take Aetna Ins and was recommended on another board. Dr. Hulinsky in West Haven CT. He's about an hour from my work so he's closer than Gordon. When i called to make the app I asked a bunch of questions and he seems on the up and up. My app is on June 27th. i hate having to wait but i'd rather go to a good doc then one I'm gonna butt heads with.
