Need your help guys... how to pack on some muscle?

A lot of actors have personal trainers dieticians and plenty of time to train cos they don't do 9-5 jobs. It's also very likely they use steroids to help them achieve their physiques.

Steve said 30s because he assumed you were a bodybuilder who wanted to look huge, it IS a bodybuilding site after all and most guys who come here ARE after a large muscular look. If you want to look like a middleweight boxer why not do some boxing? It's great fitness training and you'll certainly improve your physique. Whatever your goals though, improving your physique is a long hard slog, a marathon not a sprint. If you keep at it consistently the changes WILL come. You just need patience and determination. You've already gained 4kg (8.8lbs) that's nothing to sniff at for just 12 weeks, sure some of its fat but I'm willing to bet most of that weight was muscle. :)

Defeat is the stepping stone to victory.

It all comes with hard work, dedication, and TIME!! No matter how hard you work, how hard you train, and how much effort you put in....it still takes a long time to build a great physique.

The key is staying focused on your goals and not giving up. Eventually you will get there if you work at it ;)

OK screw it I'll stick with the 5x5 until I can bench my bodyweight. I trust you guys. Just realised that I was using the first edition of 5x5 stronglifts without the pushups or pullups/chinups. I've got bad wrists so can't do pushups and I do have a bar in my home-gym to do pullups/chinups. What do you recommend I substitute these with?

You don't really need to do anything for the moment, the 5x5 by itself will be fine. Its the core lifts you need to focus on. Also don't worry about the extra inches round the waist, you got muscles there too and they get worked with all the squats and deadlifts. Remember to feed the program bro, like Colombo said, bump up that protein intake to 300g+ as you grow you'll need to increase cal intake to fuel and repair etc. I really found eating the harder part, until I found out what best to eat.
