Vel - just to clarify where you are going w/ this thought - you are talkign about looking for things like food allergies, etc?

I was just thinking generally (undetected eating disorders, hormone imbalance, allergies, thyroid, diabetes, etc) but food allergies can effect your success or they can be a symptom of other problems or just be allergies.

Without knowing height/weight, current training, specific diet, there is very little we can actually specifically help with. (see above :) . . )

For example, if you're 4'10" and 100lbs, you're probably overeating. If you're 5'10" and 120lbs, you're probably anorexic and your body will attempt to put on weight to survive under almost any regime. No point in making recommendations over that wide a range!

Good fortune though - Vel is absolutely right on the metabolic issue. Can be fixed!

I'm gonna chime in here with a different opinion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with gaining a few pounds.......as long as its muscle. One of the hardest thing to convince my gf, is that looking smaller doesn't always mean weighing less.

Unfortunately most women seem to be scared shitless of "weight" and "muscle". Its the mass dumbing down of society, the bullshit media and marketing assholes and complete dumbass ignorance of people regarding "fitness".

:)

Just trying to balance out the options you have. You can either try and starve yourself down to get rid of any bodyfat, or add more muscle to burn it off. Personally I prefer a more muscular chick who is slightly larger and enjoys life, then a girl who's worried about eating 15 calories too many and looking "bloated".
