my bodyfat is 16.5% am i fat?

i am pretty lean as far as my arms, legs, chest its just that damn love handle shit around my lower abs, i have definition of my two upper abs but the last 4 down below are no where to be found, the lady said that my back has a bit of flab too but i have just started getting compliments on my lats they really are coming through...

I saw a show on the discovery channel that said the average american is 24-27% bf. So, you're fine. For a bodybuilder, you're high. The bottom line though ishow do you feel? If you like yourself, great. If not, do something about it (which it sounds like you are :p )

Don't try to get to 10%, 8%, 5% body fat because *others* will think you look better.. Stay at a bodyfat that you are comfortable with. If you don't like being 16% bf then lose some fat... If you like how you look now, then don't sweat it.

I get a little bit tired of seeing guys posting their pictures and/or stats and then guys will say things like "you could add a few lbs.." or "now just lean up a little bit and you're good" or even "bring up your bi's some"

Who the hell are they to tell people how they should look? Maybe that person doesn't like the suck-face look he gets when he's 5% bodyfat.. Maybe he's happy at 200lbs... I just don't get how guys can tell someone else what THEY need to do.. As if everyone has the exact same goal as them..

Thats because, half those posts have topics such as
"tell me what you bros think" or

"so what would you say i need to work on?"

"am i lackin in any areas"

Ask and you shall receive. If you dont want to be critisized on a serious board, then post your pics on www.hotornot.com

That is why people post pics in the first place. Not so everyone can say oh you look great you have a perfect physique. But rather so they can get some constructive criticism. A lot of guys here may want to enter contests. Once you are using gear that would probably be a future goal. Getting a critique on your physique at elite is cool and a great way to improve on weak points.

C'MON FELLAS

16% BF FOR AN OFFSEASON BB IS NOT HIGH

LIQUID, FINISH YOUR CYCLE-SEE WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE AND HOW YOU FEEL

IF YOUR NOT GOING TO GET ON STAGE-BF UNDER 10% IS A MATTER OF PERSONAL PREFERENCE

LOW BF IS NOT EASY TO OBTAIN UNLESS YOU HAVE A NATURALLY LOW BF

LIKE I SAID UNLESS YOUR GOAL IS TO COMPETE DONT SWEAT IT STAY AT A BF YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE AT!!!

I have a hard time beleiving that you are 16-17% bf with your top abs showing. What is the size of your waist? (around the belly, not pants size)

I was at 20% before I started working out. I'm down to around 9% now and the roll around my waist line still pisses me off.

The guys at the gym, with ripped abs all of the time, are down at 4-6% or so (by calipers). I can get down there for a day or two but the second I eat a carb, miss a cardio workout, or come off of DNP...I'm right back at 9% again. The bottom line is that you need to figure out what is natural for you body and learn to like it (easier said than done, in my case).

I HIGHLY DOUBT THE GUYS AT THE GYM ARE AT 4-6% ALL THE TIME

UNLESS THEY ARE SERIUOS COMPETITORS AND ARE CONSTANTLY A WEEK FROM A SHOW!!!! 4-6%bf IS SHREDDED

UNLESS THEY ARE SHREDDED AT 6'0 150LBS THEN MAYBE WITH 12" BIS AND A 25" WAIST
