MS - what are Matrix techniques and Maximal load training?

Hello - was searching periodisation and found W6's first ever post! Anyway, you mentioned these there - could you explain what they are?

Yeah, 21's are a type of Matrix training. In it's simplest form, Matrix is just a name for incorporating partial reps into your daily training. You can get all fancy with the maths and rep schemes but it's not necessary. I found Martix reps good for getting me past sticking points in my lifts. I got stronger, but not a lot bigger.

what the hell is going on here:confused: ... the only person i understand on this thread is MS which is why i responded accordingly.... what are the rest of u wackos talkin about...:)

Sorry spatts - but you're welcome to add maximal load training. That hasn't been covered yet.

Do you use heavier weight in the easier portion of the lift? I mean, I've never done 21's (and most people seem to do them ONLY on biceps), but as far as I recall, the same weight was used for the top half, the bottom half and the whole ROM. So how does that help one through a sticking point?

Could you give a sample rep scheme? Or point me to where I can read more about this? I searched Google, but it only found a bunch of computer and maths stuff.

Strength is cool - since I'm lacking in that department. :(
